It has been a stellar start to the season for leading Dynamic sires Fastnet Rock and Commands who both have 5 stakes winners to their credit. These stallions have stamped their authority as leading sires over the past few seasons and this year looks set to be another. This duo are the only two Australian stallions with more than 2 stakes-winners for 2012/13.
Commands currently sits 1st on the Australian General Sires Premiership while Coolmore reverse shuttler, Fastnet Rock sits in 3rd position overall. Commands was the first stallion to break through the $2m prizemoney barrier this season and now sits on $2.38m with Fastnet Rock hot on the heels of the Darley based stallion with $1.83m in prizemoney.
Commands has been a Dynamic Sire
The five stakes winners that Commands has sired this season include Epaulette (Gr1 Golden Rose, Gr3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude), Ambidexter (Gr2 Theo Marks), Lamasery (Gr2 Hill Stakes), Jimando (LR Henry Bucks Best Dressed) and Proverb (LR Bacardi Rum Dulcify). These five stakes victors are among 38 winners and 55 total wins for Commands, an impressive effort this early in the season.
Fastnet Rock has also sired 5 stakes winners including Gr2 wins from Mosheen and Jolie Bay, Gr3 victories from promising filly Nechita and Bobbie Lewis winner We’re Gonna Rock as well as a Listed win to She’s a Fox in the Rosebud. Fastnet Rock was Australia’s leading sire last year and currently stands at Coolmore stud for a fee of $220,000. Early signs suggest that the high price tag is extremely well justified with Fastnet Rock siring a total of 34 individual winners already in the 2012/13 season with that figure rapidly rising.

Both stallions have progeny running in black type events over the weekend when Melbourne takes centre stage for Caulfield Guineas day. Commands has three horses entered and Fastnet Rock has two entries on what looks to be a cracking day of racing. All five runners are currently in the market for their respective races and it would be no shock to see both sires produce winners. Commands also has a runner in the LR Hill Smith Stakes at Morphettville in Boristar who looked well placed after two lead up victories.
Dynamic ensure that we buy progeny that are sired by the leading stallions to maximise our potential of racetrack success. It is no fluke that these sires keep producing the best horses year after year and Dynamic make sure that we find the highest quality sires bred on the best crosses to syndicate to our clients.
In April of this year, we purchased a Fastnet Rock filly out of city winner Jewel of the Nile which has been subsequently named Al Julhara and will be trained by Gerald Ryan. Al Julhara is undergoing her first preparation in the Gerald Ryan stables currently and seems to be flourishing at her new Rosehill based home. The final horse that we syndicated this year was a Commands filly out of Kiwi mare Making Fey who has produced 5 horses to race for 5 winners including Gr1 winning 2yo Apercu. This filly has broken in superbly and it will not be long before she heads to the stable of Chris Waller for an orientation into racing life.

Please keep an eye on the website for all updates on how our current crop of 2yos are progressing as well as news on all the sires that Dynamic Syndications associate themselves with. We wish the best of luck to all connections of the progeny of both Fastnet Rock and Commands over the weekend and we hope to see them salute with more stakes victories.
