New Zealand Bloodstock’s 2013 Premier Sale wrapped up at Karaka yesterday with strong trade over the past two days providing an increased average and clearance rate and identical median compared with last year’s edition.
In total 323 of the 441 catalogued lots have sold for $51,051,500, $3,085,500 less than in 2012 with 27 fewer horses sold. That represents a final Premier Sale average of $158,054, a 2% increase on last year’s $154,677.
Coolmore sire Fastnet Rock made his presence firmly felt right from early on day one, with his 14-strong draft providing him with top honours, selling 100% for an average of $419,284.

Fastnet Rock provided two of the top four lots over the sale with the feature attraction being a Fastnet Rock – Celebria colt that went to Coolmore stud on day one for a whopping $1,975,000. Once again Fastnet Rock proved that “Everybody wants a Fastnet” however it is often hard to find one at a reasonable price.

Fastnet Rock has had an excellent start to the sale season averaging $342,000 at the Magic Millions sale in January and finished on an average of NZ$419,284 at the Karaka Premier sale. Here at Dynamic Syndications, we couldn’t believe our luck when we managed to secure an exceptionally bred Fastnet Rock – Dynamic Love filly at the Magic Millions sales for just $150,000. Although this figure is well below the average price that we have seen for 2013, our filly is a racehorse owners dream as she has the conformation to match her outstanding pedigree. By champion sire Fastnet Rock, she is out of multiple Stakes winner Dynamic Love who has already produced four to race for a total of four winners. Our filly is a cracking type and has the added advantage of being trained by Sydney’s leading trainer Chris Waller who has already built up an unassailable lead in the Sydney Metropolitan training ranks.
Our Fastnet Rock - Dynamic Love yearling
NZB Co-Managing Director Petrea Vela says the company is very pleased with the results of the past two days.
"We headed into this Sale expecting some uncertainty in the market and have been very pleasantly surprised by how solid the results have been. We have definitely felt improvement on last year where the first day in particular took a lot longer to find a momentum.
"Throughout the past two days trade has been very steady, very strong in places, with a wide and varied buying bench that has been positive in its regard for the horses on offer at Karaka. Hopefully the tide is turning and with some positive news in New Zealand around fillies racing and so on, that confidence will also filter through the local market over the course of the week ahead."
We congratulate the team at New Zealand bloodstock on another successful sale which was helped along by Dynamic sire Fastnet Rock. At Dynamic we are constantly trying to stay ahead of the curb and have managed to do it yet again with a well conformed, impecibly bred Fastnet filly. With the sale prices of Fastnet Rock continually rising whether it be here in Australia or across the ditch, we are offering an opportunity not to miss out on at a fraction of the price that it would normally cost you to own a Fastnet.
One thing that has remained constant through both sales is that Fastnet Rock’s are hot property in racing and it’s true what they say, that “everybody wants a Fastnet”. To join the Dynamic team and become part of a brilliant racing prospect by Fastnet Rock, please contact Dynamic Syndications on (02) 9587 1511.
Shares are available from just $12,650 for a 5% share with full ownership privileges. “COME ON, BE DYNAMIC,” join our team today and race this cracking Fastnet filly with Chris Waller and Dynamic Syndication.
