GARY MOORE trains first winner for TEAM DYNAMIC as HIRAD Flys
HIRAD posts a 4 length win in Class Record Time
Effervescent and extremely likable (and now
Rosehill based)
trainer GARY MOORE celebrated with
his son David and Team Dynamic’s Adam Watt, as top jockey
Josh Parr steered home
Dynamic Syndications enigmatic runner
HIRAD (Not A Single Doubt / Raven Protector) to a dominant 4 length victory over his rivals in Race 8 on the programme at Hawkesbury on Friday afternoon.
Burdened with
60.0kgs, HIRAD never gave his peers a chance when demoralising the field with a superb
all the way win in the
Access Scaffolding (NSW) Pty Ltd Benchmark 65 Handicap.
Not only were the margins
4 lengths x nose, they ran a sizzling
1:22.09 smashing 0.67 seconds off the Class Record that had stood since September 2011, set by Rebel Prince who carried 54.5kgs.
To give further understanding to what
HIRAD achieved, this was just the
2nd win by a horse carrying 60.0kgs to victory over 1400m in the 401 races run over the trip since the 1999/2000 racing season.
In fact only one horse VITELLO has carried more weight to victory when carrying 60.5kgs in a Class 2 event.
Credit definitely goes to the experience of trainer Gary Moore.
At Hirad’s last start, he was beaten 17.6 lengths at Randwick when the horse grabbed the bit and took off in the early stages from barrier 12 and naturally, he gassed out.
Gary knew the horse had been working super, so he gave it some thought and elected to change the bit and head gear from blinkers back to winkers. These two changes worked immediately and his trackwork leading into this event was very good.
In this event, and back to having a senior jockey aboard,
HIRAD found the right race third-up after a spell. The tempo was only muddling on paper and with a better draw it was obvious that we would lead here.
Josh rode an 11 out of 10 race. It was text book quality and was a classic example to younger, inexperienced riders to observe.
The plan was always to lead. However we wanted Josh to be positive for the first 150m and then see how the competitors wanted to settle. If anyone wanted to be positive with him, then give
HIRAD a little more reign and put a couple of lengths on the field. This will dictate the pattern and they will sit off and wait. Then at the 550m as they are starting to attack, slip him some more reign and kick a length. By doing this they will be off the bit chasing well outside their comfort zone. If he gets a soft time like this, they won’t get near him.
Gold Star ! Beautifully rated by Josh Parr, Hirad responded to Josh’s commands and the race was run perfectly to script.
Nothing matched the pure joy of HIRAD flashing past the post eased down still with 4 lengths clear and smashing the class record in the process.
Pandemonium erupted immediately as Gary Moore was on hand for the first time since he has returned from a successful career in Macau, to be trackside when a horse Gary and his sons Nicholas and David trained, won since his return.
Keeping with the family theme, Nicholas, who is up on the Gold Coast for 3 stable runners at the Gold Coast on Saturday, was on the phone whilst Gary’s brother John Moore had been watching from Hong Kong, he too was straight on the phone to congratulate his brother. There is no doubt Gary’s famous father George Moore would have been very proud of his son and grandson’s as he smiled down from above.
The thrill of the win was contagious as Gary was interviewed by Sky Channel’s Gary Harley post-race.
GARY MOORE with Adam Watt post race
In what is a classic example of Gary Moore’s enthusiasm and humbleness, Gary said:
“Ha Ha, Dynamic Syndications – it’s good to train a winner for them. When I was in Australia previously I trained for Dean and Adam so it’s a great thrill to come here (Hawkesbury) and win so impressively - and break the Class Record makes it more special”
“He bolted in – I just made the gear changes and it made him a lot more tractable and he came back under Josh, it was a great ride and the horse was very dominating today” Gary stated.
“To get this type of horse from another trainer (Mick Price) who is one of very best trainers in Australia is very special to be able to win with them - Thank you, I’m very grateful.” Gary added.
