COMMANDS Sold for Stud Career
Champion sire
COMMANDS, Group 1 Winning Daughter
“Commanding Jewel” (Commands-Regard, by Zabeel), the winner of the
Gr1 Thousand Guineas, has been sold and retired from racing.
The Leon and Troy Corstens trained 5yo mare, is the
3/4 sister to superstar mare Atlantic Jewel. She had finished unplaced behind
Trust In A Gust, in the Gr1 Toorak Handicap (1600m) at Caulfield on 11 October. After jarring up during that run on the firm track, the owners decided to pull up stumps.
There was an offer from co-owner Greg Perry to buy the mare outright and the mare was sold.
Commanding Jewel will enter the next chapter of her career at Vinery Stud.
The beautifully bred
Commanding Jewel, is a daughter of
Champion Sire COMMANDS, whilst
her third dam is Gr1 Cheveley Park Stakes winner Pass The Peace.
Commanding Jewel retires with a career record of 11 starts: 5 wins and 4 placings and $694,700 earnings.
