The Kiwi equivalent of the
Gr1 Golden Slipper was run at won on Saturday at Ellerslie and the result was a major financial windfall not only for the horse's connections, it was also for
Team Dynamic.
Heroic Valour (by Fastnet Rock ex Myrrh) on Saturday powered to the
top of the NZ National two-year-old standings when he stretched his unbeaten record to three.
Heroic Valour (2 c Fastnet Rock - Myrrh by Nassipour) has now won NZ$157,000 in prizemoney
The colt’s greenness couldn’t mask his raw ability, producing a dominant effort downing the season’s
most competitive juvenile line-up in the Group One Diamond Stakes.
Heroic Valour ran the 1200m in 1:09.79.
Heroic Valour lived up to his breeding, his high price tag and his
unbeaten form with a gallant win
in the Gr1 Diamond Stakes from the fillies
Wyndspelle and O’Rachael.
HEROIC EFFORT was a debut winner at Trentham, who then claimed the Listed Matamata Slipper.
HEROIC VALOUR wins Listed Race
The sensational Colt was ridden aggressively from a wide gate to race close to the pace and he finished strongly in the run home to maintain his perfect record at the expense of the fillies Wyndspelle and O’Rachael.
“He’s improving all the time and keeps stepping up,” said Jamie Richards, who trains the youngster in partnership with Stephen Autridge.
“He still does a few things wrong and that’s why we brought him up here to gallop on Tuesday and to give him a good look around.”
Heroic Valour credited his champion Australian sire Fastnet Rock with his first 2-year-old success at Group 1 level.
“He’s a very talented colt and a very valuable one – we won’t be making any decisions just yet on the next move,” Richards said.
Owner David Ellis was full of praise for jockey Jonathan Riddell and the Colt.
"Jonathan has an unbeaten record on our horses and it was really good for him and Heroic Valour to have a look around Ellerslie earlier in the week," Ellis said. "This is a colt with a lot of potential for next season.
"He will have one more run this preparation in the Group 1 Manawatu Sires Produce (1400m) on April 2 at Awapuni and then be sent for a spell and aimed towards his 3-year-old season."
Myrrh has now produced
8 winners from 11 foals to race and is herself, a daughter of the
Group 2 Winner SAN PAULI GIRL (Western Symphony) and she's a half-sister to the
Listed winner CAPADAN (Danasinga) being out of the stakes-placed
Cappoquin (Prince Echo).
Myrrh was covered by Coolmore Stud’s Zoffany (Dansili) last December having missed the previous year
.
TRIPLE HONOUR
A half-brother to the Group 1 ATC Doncaster Handicap winner
TRIPLE HOUNOR (NZ) (by Honours List), Heroic Valour was a $400,000 Karaka yearling for Te Akau Stud, who also purchased the yearling full-brother for $510,000 earlier this year.
The win of HEROIC VALOUR proves to be a major result for Team Dynamic.
Only two weeks earlier, Dynamic Syndications purchased Lot 404 at the Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale offered by Arrowfield Stud as agent.
He was a magnificent Colt by Australia's Best Sire REDOUTE'S CHOICE
from a General Nediym mare - TRIPLED.
TRIPLED is also a daughter of Myrrh, which makes TRIPLED a 1/2 sister to Group 1 winner TRIPLE HONOUR, and the 1/2 sister to HEROIC VALOUR who by his racetrack deeds, is currently rated the Top NZ 2yo and is odds-on, to end up being Champion NZ 2yo for 2015/16.
Both TRIPLE HONOUR (Honour List) and HEROIC VALOUR (Fastnet Rock) are Danehill line sires whilst Our Colt is by the best sire son of Danehill - REDOUTE'S CHOICE from their half-sister.
Also, there is the full brother yearling to HEROIC VALOUR still to race who could also add big black type.
As a result of this massive commercial improvement to the pedigree page, our super Colt has significantly increased in value and would be an automatic stallion prospect should he be able to gain black type in the same fashion, as his now two famous Group 1 winning uncles.
