HIRAD makes it 2 in a row with Dominant win at Caulfield

A great way to end the Easter break for Dynamic when our highly promising Mick Price trained 3yo HIRAD (Not A Single Doubt x Raven Protector) scored a dominant 1 ¾ length win of race 8 at Caulfield on Easter Monday - the Guinot International Handicap (1400 Meters) BM68.

Ridden cleverly by under-rated hoop Ibrahim Gundogdu, our jockey took advantage of an inside draw to punch up after the gates flew and drove to the lead immediately.

Importantly after establishing the lead after the first furlong, HIRAD came back under a good hold and was able to dictate terms for 2 furlongs before being challenged mid race by the horse that had been sensationally backed from 21/1 into 9/1 however that challenge was only brief.

Then as he round into the home turn, Ibrahim allowed HIRAD a little reign and the horse dashed clear in a catch me if you can tactic - they couldn't and HIRAD kept going to score an emphatic victory.

RETURNING TO SCALE

HIRAD has always shown well above average ability but was a little slow to mature. At his first preparation he ran 3rd twice from 3 starts and on each occasion his saddle slipped despite being as tight as possible. He just hadn't filled out enough and was too narrow. Despite the difficulties in transit, he still ran super on each occasion.

Sent for a spell he came back with two excellent trial wins and went to Sandown first up with high expectations however a Heavy track saw his legs slip and slide like an ice skater and the result was a disappointing run.

However the team never lost confidence. We took him out to Terang to give him a soft, confidence boost and it was spectacularly successful with a 7 length romp with Ibrahim in the saddle.

Then with this win at Caulfield, being as dominant as it was, the horse appears to have a bright future with more wins in store.

AS A YEARLING

Purchased from the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale for $75,000 and syndicated around leading Melbourne Trainer Mick Price, Team Dynamic can't be any happier.

He has now raced on 6 occasions: 2 wins, 2 thirds.
