Today marked the start of what we hope to be the successful career for yet another Dynamic Syndications 3yo, Hirad.
Hirad, a Not a Single Doubt gelding made his much anticipated debut today, Friday the 14th of September at the Geelong Synthetic track.
Head shot of Hirad
He ran in a 3yo maiden event over 1100m after preference was taken to run against his own age here despite also being nominated for a 3yo+ maiden at Echuca on Saturday.
Mick Price trains this gelding who has only had 2 jump outs leading into this race, the second of which he won despite travelling wide and that readied him for his race debut.
And what a great debut it was. Finishing a close up neck 3rd behind boom horse and favourite If I Could and market mover Purple Storm.
Hirad was brilliantly into stride from the barriers but was restrained behind the speed to sit in the one/one spot until the home turn before angling back towards the fence.
He looked the winning hope at the 200m – 100m before he ran out of petrol and tired the last 50m to just miss out.
The press highlighted the run as it was such a great effort.
Hirad at the farm
Hirad is beautifully bred by Not a Single Doubt and out of Raven Protector which is part of the impressive Redoute’s Choice – Woodman sire line cross.
This cross previously produced Gr1 winner Miss Finland who was a four time Gr1 winner as a 3yo which made us eager to see the first start of Hirad at the races.
After being gelded on the advice of leading trainer Mick Price, he has already shown that he has some ability but at this stage is still learning his trade.
Looking at the Geelong race closely, it appeared very competitive but we expected our colt to run well and improve on several lengths on what he did at his first attempt at the racing game.
As Hirad gains more experience, we should see him grow and mature into a far better than average horse.
We would like to acknowledge the owners in this horse and we wish them the best of luck in the future with this promising galloper.
