They ran 1:04.1 for the trip coming home in 34.13 secs.
BERNIE IBINI (left) with his namesake IBINI
IBINI is named after professional Australian soccer player BERNIE IBINI.
Drawing ideally in barrier 1, IBINI was quickly into stride and pushed up to hold his position on the fence. Vallesco from barrier 8 also pushed up and crossed IBINI after 200m and Adrian just switched off the fence to sit to the outside of the leader as the field entered the home turn. On straightening, Adrian was swinging off IBINI however kept a tight grip as IBINI went up to eyeball the leader at the 300m.
Waiting until the 200m before pushing the go button, Adrian and IBINI put the race away when the duo dashed a length in front of the leader. Adrian gave IBINI a soft time in the final furling allowing IBINI to score a comfortable win.
