A lot can happen in the racing and breeding industry over a 10 year period.
Many stallions retire off the track with
much fanfare and hype to commence their careers at stud.
Being a racetrack hero does not guarantee success. It only guarantees, the marketing machines at commercial studs go into overdrive quickly plonking large service fees on these sires to artificially create commercial values on the resultant offspring and to pay for the upkeep at the fancy stud farms.
These stallions serve Rolls Royce quality mares and stud masters sit back in hope and pray their new acquisitions may strike it lucky, producing good quality offspring that reach the pinnacle of this great industry.
However as a case study, we look back to 2006 where a relative unknown stallion to Australians had his first progeny walk through the yearling sale ring.
His name -
Invincible Spirit and he was standing at
Chatswood Stud in Victoria on a shuttle arrangement with the Irish National Stud.
At the time and throughout the 2006 sales season, he had just 19 yearlings sell for a modest average of $31,000.
Invincible Spirit would only stand 4 seasons in total in Australia with his last breeding season being 2006 where he stood for only
$11,000.
The Irish National Stud did not return
Invincible Spirit to Australia in 2007 as they considered him to be
"too valuable" following a
World Record 35 Individual Winners, 4 Stakes Winners and $1.1 Million Euros in earnings during his first northern hemisphere crop, leaving all the expensive and very high profile stallions in his wake.
We move forward fast track almost 9 years on to 2015 where we review the significance of the then, relative unknown commodity
INVINCIBLE SPIRIT.
He has just completed the 2015 Northern Hemisphere breeding season at the
Irish National Stud where he stood for
$100,000 Euro.
He currently has close to a
dozen sire sons active at stud in the Northern and Southern Hemisphere and in 2015 he will also have one of his grandsons at stud in Australia.
Invincible Spirit has 3 highly acclaimed sons at stud in Ireland with
LAWMAN standing at $25,000 Euros, Charm Spirit standing his first season at $25,000 Euros and the exciting Kingman standing at stud for the first time for $55,000 Euro.
Whilst in Australia, we have seen the revolution of the most exciting young stallion in the Southern Hemisphere,
I AM INVINCIBLE who will stand that 2015 Breeding Season at
$55,000.
I AM INVINCIBLE
I Am Invincible has had three consecutive service fee increases, he started his career at a modest
$11,000 before having his service fee increased on the back of being crowned champion first season sire in 2014 to
$27,500 and will stand this coming breeding season at
$55,000 and most importantly, breeders have rallied and the
Full Book sign is posted on the farm gate.
I Am Invincible currently sits second (behind
Snitzel) on the Australian 2yo Sires Premiership by number of winners, he sits well inside the Top 10 3yo stallions list by number of winners and he sits more than a dozen wins ahead of any stallion in the second crop sires premiership.
I Am Invincible has had exactly
100 runners to date for 60 Individual Winners and 17 placed runners. 95 of the 100 runners have earned prizemoney whilst he has had 12 Black Type horses being 5 Stakes Winners and 7 Stakes placegetters.
Simply he has been a revolution and not since the great Danehill have we seen numbers like this.
BRAZEN BEAU
I Am Invincible is the Sire of the Brazen Beau, a multiple Group 1 winner that has been purchased by the powerful Darley operation and will stand his first season at stud in 2015 at a service fee of $44,000 following his assault on Royal Ascot.
As we review the last decade, the once hopeful picture has been set in stone, the Invincible Spirit breeding line is one of the most influential bloodlines we have seen come to prominence in our industry for decades, it has raised itself up from humble beginnings both in the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere.
It is eerily spooky that both
Invincible Spirit and I Am Invincible stood their first seasons at $10,000 and $11,000 respectively and whilst Invincible Spirit now stands at $100,000 Euro his son I Am Invincible is rapidly catching him.

I Am Invincible yearlings sold up to $750,000 in 2015 and this is only off an $11,000 service fee, in a few years’ time it is quite reasonable to expect his progeny making well over $1 Million in the Sales ring off the back of his $55,000 service fee. As such, our filly could well be a highly commercial product as the industry goes into overdrive for both the I Am Invincible yearlings and also the Brazen Beau yearlings.
We currently have only 25% available in our I Am Invincible Filly.
She is out of an
