At Rosehill this morning (Tuesday), Dynamic Syndications had two unraced 2yo’s go around in trials and we were delighted with the efforts of both runners.
After a superb trial win by our unraced 2yo REPARTEE at Cranbourne on Monday for Caulfield trainer PETER MOODY, it was the turn of the Sydneysiders today and neither let anyone down.
It commenced with Heat 4 when our
CHRIS WALLER trained newcomer
MADE TO ORDER (f by Commands x Making Fey by Sir Tristram) won her trial in soft fashion.
MADE TO ORDER as a yearling
She jumped away well but from a wider gate, rider Jimmy Cassidy was trapped 4 deep, 2 lengths off the leader. After 150m Jimmy pushed up and around the field to go and sit at the girth of the leader. Made to Order relaxed well in this position and the filly turned into the straight with her ears pricked and under a tight hold. Once balanced, Jimmy gave Made To Order just a little rein and she cruised up and went past the leader with Jimmy still having a tight hold not wishing her to extend any further.
At the 120m she was challenged on the outside by a runner being pushed out, so Jimmy shook the reins twice and again the filly concentrated and controlled the trial to the winning post.
Still quite green and new, Jimmy Cassidy positively reported she will be a real nice filly as a 3yo which is exactly what we would hope to expect on her pedigree.
MADE TO ORDER was an Easter graduate in 2012. Dynamic Syndications paid $110,000 for the ½ sister to Gr1 Winner Apercu and it is looking at this early stage the right decision. Bred to be a 3yo over 1600m – 2000m+ so we are delighted she is showing natural ability as a 2yo over short trips.
Next it was Heat 7 and the
GERALD RYAN trained unraced 2yo
NO IFS OR BUTS put in an eye-catching run to finish 3rd in his heat. Ridden by Josh Adams, No Ifs Or Buts was a fraction tardy to begin and that saw him be chopped out of his position after only 50m and by the time he rebalanced, Josh was forced to settle No Ifs Or Buts at the tail of the field.
Unfortunately the field of 10 was racing tight and we were stuck back on the fence at the tail until they balanced up at the top of the straight. You could see our horse was full of running whilst those in front of him were wayward and tiring. Josh went for an inside run back to the fence but it closed and then, between runners but that too closed.
So Josh checked No Ifs Or Buts back and angled 45 degrees to take a narrow run between horses 4 deep. The horse laid his ears back, grabbed the bit and drove through to hit the line hard in an “eye-catching” performance. Despite finishing third, the horse was full of running and kept working hard well past the line.
Josh Adams rang us after the trial, full of confidence how well the horse went for him and how tractable and strong he was through the line. He commented that he is getting better and better every time we put a saddle on him and his improvement has been significant.
He is a different horse this time in work having benefited from being gelded after his first preparation. Exciting for our team of owners is that the horse is bred to run a strong 1400m so we look forward to his future.
NO IFS OR BUTS as a yearling
NO IFS OR BUTS (Not A Single Doubt x Sutton Review) is owned by an All Girls Syndicate and was purchased from the Magic Millions. Many readers will remember him as he was the APACHE CAT lookalike.
In the past 24 hours we have been delighted with the trials of
REPARTEE, MADE TO ORDER and
NO IFS OR BUTS.
Whilst we appreciate trial form is never race form, at least if the unraced 2yo’s show ability, the future appears brighter than for those 2yo’s that show little.
We are delighted these 3 x 2yo’s are wearing Dynamic Syndications silks.
