Expectations were high in advance of the US season that the first progeny of champion two year-old
Uncle Mo would make a flying start on the racecourse and that is
certainly proving to be the case.
UNCLE MO - The Top 2yo in the USA in 2010 winning at the Breeder's Cup meeting at Churchill Downs
At
Santa Anita in California, one of America's premier tracks, exciting filly
GOMO provided her sire with his 4th winner (
from only 6 runners to date. The other 2 runners are both placed) when romping to a maiden victory on debut.
The filly, out of an Elusive Quality mare, jumped quickly going straight to the lead. As they swung for home
GOMO had a 2 length lead and drew clear in effortless fashion to score by a widening 5 ¼ lengths.
She'll now be targeted at the
Gr2 Sorrento Stakes over 1300m at the prestigious Del Mar meeting in August.
Uncle Mo has made a blistering start with his first US runners.
As well as
GOMO, other promising winners include the colts:
Nyquist and Uncle Vinny who are being targeted at stakes races, with the latter having the
Gr2 Sanford Stakes on his agenda.
The first progeny of Uncle Mo realised up to $140,000 at the yearling sales in Australasia this season.
Uncle Mo will stand the 2015 Australian season at Coolmore Australia at a fee of $16,500.
He represents exceptional value and is the stallion that could really surprise in the 2yo ranks next season.
Dynamic Syndications Boss Dean Watt was fortunate enough to be on hand at the
2010 Breeders Cup meeting at Churchill Downs to watch
Uncle Mo destroy his opposition. He was a brilliant 2yo and certainly appears at this early stage to have blessed his progeny with his own brilliance and precociousness.
We tried hard to buy an
Uncle Mo at the sales this year however we only has three make our final list and each brought more than we were prepared to pay.
However we will be looking to target
Uncle Mo progeny at the sales in 2016, especially if they keep running like they are in the US.
