4 new yearlings are now Dynamic after the first 2 sessions of the 2018 Inglis Classic Sale at the new Riverside Stables at Warwick Farm.
Filling the space of what was once the Classic Sale despite each year one or two yearlings from the sale floating to the top, the sale was known for offering yearling considered non-commercial or substandard, the 2018 version of the Inglis Classic has moved away from this arena and is now a viable sale competing for prominence against the Inglis Melbourne Premier to become the third highest profile sale in Australia behind Inglis Easter and the Magic Millions.
Many of the high profiled vendors embraced the new
“Inglis Dream” to turn the inaugural sale at the Riverside Stables into a viable alternative and they have been well rewarded.
With 800 horses catalogued, not all the yearlings are of merchantable quality and many have serious defects on conformation, x-rays or scope or others still fail the commerciality test but as a whole, as professional buyers, the Team at Dynamic were amazed at the increase in quality.
Traditionally a sale we may buy one or two or maybe none at all, this year we had 155 yearlings to inspect that passed the commerciality and genetics test prior to inspection and then of these, 38 passed physical inspections. These were whittled down to
26 yearlings to pass the full veterinary inspection including x-rays and videoscope.
Adam Watt & Dr Tim Roberts going through the due diligence inspection process
That is a record number for us at this sale.
These yearlings are naturally well found and are bring prices that are on par with what buyers would have paid at the Magic Millions.
However, we have secured 4 yearlings by the close of Day 2 of the four-day sale.
We purchase 1 yearling in the opening session on Saturday evening and we purchased a further 3 yearlings at Session 2 on the Sunday.
The 4 new yearlings to become Dynamic so far were:
