LAGONDA defeats Hundredz'N Thousanz by half length with 3 lengths back to Jabu
Congratulations to the Dynamic team race LAGONDA:
DYNAMIC SYNDICATIONS RACING (Synd) (Mgr D WATT), R J GALL, J LE, D L CLARKE, Ms S A LAZARUS, L D LINDSELL, C PRIEST, G D MASON, G C DICKIE, Y W KIM, J YIANNI, G DAVIES, Mrs R DAVIES, S BATORI, Mrs C JOHNSTON, Mrs G M GAMMAGE, M H WOOD.
LAGONDA won Race 1 the RPF Building Trophy Handicap 2200m. She carried 62.0kgs and was ridden by Ricky Blewitt. She won in a time of 2:19.07 which was a Class Record. The margin was 0.5 length x 3 lengths. She gave 3.0kgs to the runner-up and met the third placed horse 2.0kgs worse at the weights.
LAGONDA jumped well but was restrained early to settle at the rear of the field, where she stayed until balanced in the straight. The rider went to make his move but was checked and lost his reins. He had to grab hold of the breastplate and then regathered his reins which cost the horse valuable momentum and a length in ground. However such was the superior finish of Lagonda in this grade, she quickly rounded up the leader and went past to ease down on the line, scoring by a comfortable margin and in the process, picked up a first prize cheque plus a BOBS Extra bonus as well.
This is a valuable addition to the pedigree of an exceptionally commercial broodmare prospect.
LAGONDA
LAGONDA is an Encosta De Lago grand-daughter of $5m broodmare MILANOVA.
Now she is a winner of
two races at 1600m and 2200m her commercial worth as a big, strong and correct mare, is going to ensure she will be well desired in the Broodmare Sales in 2016.
Having been with the leading Rosehill stable she couldn’t fire, so
LAGONDA was transferred to the stable of excellent and underrated
mentor GARY NICKSON who has trained her to win both races.
A big thanks goes to Gary and his team.
Well done to a top team of Owners and Connections.
LAGONDA winning this event was our 443rd Race Win and our 14th Race Win for this Racing Season.
