Exciting times certainly appear on the horizon yet again for breeding powerhouse
Coolmore Stud, since they are the home of leading
US First Crop Sires List and exciting young stallion
UNCLE MO, who continued his impressive run of success in the US over the weekend.

The former
Champion 2yo posted his second Stakes-Winner with a brilliant victory for
NYQUIST in the
Gr2 Best Pal Stakes over 1300m at Del Mar in California on Saturday.

Prominent throughout, the promising colt bounded clear once cut loose in the straight, in a manner reminiscent of his sire, to score easily by over five lengths and retain his unbeaten record.
“I think it’s safe to say he stays number one of our two year-olds,” said his trainer Doug O’Neill.
“Physically and mentally, he’s the best. But you never know, things can change so quickly, good and bad, for two year-olds.
“If he stays injury-free, he’s got the mind of a champ,” added O’Neill of his charge, who is now likely to tackle the G1 Del Mar Futurity on September 7th.
NYQUIST is the second Stakes-Winner for UNCLE MO, following on from UNCLE VINNY, winner of the Gr3 Sanford Stakes over 1200m a few weeks ago.
UNCLE VINNY
Less than 24 hours after the win of
NYQUIST, the progeny of
UNCLE MO were again making headlines, this time at Saratoga in New York, where his debutante daughter
THRILLED broke her maiden on the turf at the prestigious track.
Despite racing greenly throughout, the Todd Pletcher-trained filly produced a withering finish along the inside rail to collar the leader right on the line and score by a nose.
She is the Sixth Individual Winner for her sire and his Second on the Turf, the other being impressive Santa Anita maiden winner
GOMO.
GAI WATERHOUSE
The success of
UNCLE MO has caught the attention of many, with
Champion trainer Gai Waterhouse noting via Twitter the
“fantastic” results of his first crop while inspecting
“strong, precocious yearlings” from his second crop at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Yearling Sale yesterday.
The first Australasian bred crop of
UNCLE MO are now 2yo’s and have been impressing leading trainers with their early development.

UNCLE MO stands the 2015 southern hemisphere season at
Coolmore Australia at a fee of $16,500.
Dynamic Syndications boss Dean Watt was fortunate to see UNCLE MO race at the Breeders Cup meeting at Churchill Downs in 2010.
“He was an awesome powerhouse with a brilliant turn of foot that left his peers as if they in slow motion.
“With his type and his pedigree to match and being free of Danehill blood, I believe he will have success in Australia as a genuine speed out-cross for the majority of mares in Australia. He’s a big chance of making a successful career down here too.”
Seeing is believing. Our regret is we were unable to buy one this year at the sales because the yearlings that met our buying criteria by
UNCLE MO were simply too expensive for our budget.
I am keen to see how these UNCLE MO’s adapt here in Australia and will be keen to buy them next year.
We will especially like to buy them for
GAI who is a buzz about what she is seeing of the breed at Fasig-Tipton this week.
