Dynamic Syndications runner
MESTALLA (4yo g By Northern Meteor x Villa Valencia) made it 2 wins from 2 starts for trainer
Matty Dunn who is based at Murwillumbah in Northern NSW.
Matty trained over 100 race wins last season and was runner-up on the Brisbane Premiership training 51 city winners.
MESTALLA in a dominant all the way effort, gave none of his rivals any hope when leading from start to finish to record a
3.5 length x 0.2 length win while being eased down on the post, over runner-up Sheeda Gal who carried 54.0kgs (5.0kgs less) and Handled was in third position.
The top-weighted
MESTALLA won race 3 at Murwillumbah, the Mr Sales Class 1 Hcp over 1410m.
He had drawn barrier 10/10 carrying 59.0kgs and was ridden by Tegan Harrison.
They ran 1:26.29 coming home in 36.68 secs.
Starting $2.70 favourite, our race plan was always to be positive from the wide draw and put ourselves up on the speed tracking the leaders.
Things went to plan early and
MESTALLA rolled across from out wide but the expected pace in the race didn't eventuate so Tegan Harrison took the initiative and rolled to the front.
Quickly the field spread out over a dozen lengths or more while Tegan was keeping
MESTALLA under a tight hold as the furlong markers flew bye.
Approaching the point of the 400m at the home turn,
MESTALLA had his chasers all off the bit whilst Tegan remained with a tight hold. As they balanced at the top of the straight, Tegan let the brakes off and
MESTALLA dashed 3 lengths in front with nothing coming out of the ruck behind to give chase.
As Tegan and
MESTALLA hit the 100m mark, the race was all over and it was just a matter of keeping going to the post under their own steam.
The pair rolled to the post increasing the margin out to a commanding 3.5 lengths.
