Back on
8 September the team at
Dynamic Syndications wrote a story about a
3yo filly MISS COBRA who had just run 4th in the
Listed Wanganui Guineas on a bottomless track coming from last to miss out by one length.
That run had the proverbial flashing lights on it and we suggested to our readers that you should be
Black Booking her name and follow her on the path to the
Gr1 NZ Oaks.
On Thursday at Otaki she stepped out again, this time over 1380m but back to a set weights maiden - again on a Heavy 10 surface.
Starting at 5/4 in NZ and backed into $1.50 here in Australia,
MISS COBRA didn’t let any of her connections or supporters down with a very convincing eased down win by 1.5 lengths x 4 lengths.
MISS COBRA winning with ease at OTAKI 24-9-15
MISS COBRA glides to the post untroubled
This filly by the NZ based sire Iffraaj appears to be the real deal and the trip of the
NZ Oaks is exactly what she is crying out for.
It’s no surprise that she has what it takes to be a success.
After all she out of
ATHENRI a daughter of Champion Sire ZABEEL, who has already produced
MISS COBRA’S half-brother – the
Group 1 Queensland Derby winner and Gr3 Frank Packer Plate winner SHOOTOFF (by Duelled).
The easy win by
MISS COBRA in this event didn’t surprise anyone however it was a vital stepping stone for her connections so to ensure she was a winner and therefore significantly higher up in balloting order as she leads into the fantastic series of Stakes Races that lie ahead.

The reason the team at
Dynamic Syndications are so upbeat about this 3yo filly is we purchased her younger half-sister at this year’s sales.
CAPE BLANCO x ATHENRI (now 2yo filly) being trained by GAI WATERHOUSE.
OUR FILLY
We purchased our filly to be aimed at the 3yo Classics and onto Cup Racing as a 4yo.
The fact that MISS COBRA looks so exciting certainly adds significant commercial appeal to this already superb female pedigree.
SHOOTOFF
Not only is our filly a daughter of a
Zabeel mare – but her half-brother is
SHOOTOFF – the Gr1 Queensland Derby Winner and Gr3 Frank Packer Plate Winner.
"Bred to stick like chewing-gum to a blanket", MISS COBRA announced herself as a
genuine Oaks Contender.
MISS COBRA is the most appealing type at this early stage for this
NZ Classic Race.
In particular
the team at Dynamic will be closely following the fortunes of
MISS COBRA with great interest.
The fact that
MISS COBRA has run 4th in the Wanganui Guineas has added valuable black type and commerciality into the pedigree page for our filly.
Now she is
a winner adds significant strength as well.
The fact she is a half-sister to a
Group 1 Queensland Derby winner is very important too !
However from
Dynamic Syndications position, our biggest interest is
she’s a daughter of Athenri –
our spectacular 2yo filly by CAPE BLANCO from ATHENRI.
Wow – can you imagine how excited we would be if MISS COBRA grabbed the NZ Oaks ?
We would then own the
half-sister to a Gr1 Derby Winner and to a Gr1 Oaks Winner.
Our filly would be worth a fortune – especially considering
CAPE BLANCO was the Champion stayer of Ireland and the USA the opportunities on the track and at stud are endless.
CAPE BLANCO
Shares in our CAPE BLANCO / ATHENRI filly are only $8,050 and
she is with legendary HALL OF FAME trainer – GAI WATERHOUSE.
For owners who ever wanted a contender for CLASSICS and CUPS – we strongly recommend you to review our filly.
