Magic Millions Day 2 sees Dynamic buy a Redoute's Choice filly
The highs and lows of the yearling sales was evident again on day 2 of the incredibly strong Magic Millions Yearling Sale which continues to see vendors the winners in most battles between buyer and seller.
This was evident with the exceptionally strong overall clearance rate that sits at an amazing 88.44%. The average and median both came off a touch from the opening days records but are well in front of last years benchmarks.
The average after 2 days is a very strong $133,575 (day 1 $141,606) and the median is $120,000 (day 1 $130,000). The top price remains at only $450,000 which proves the strength of the middle market and encouragingly for the sales company, only 40 yearlings remain passed-in with those vendors having higher expectations than the market in most instantness or their yearling was not of commercial value to take a risk on conformational defects.
Dynamic had 16 lots marked to buy on Day 2 dependant on price where as a bloodstock valuer, our Managing Director Dean Watt had set ceiling price limits on each horse. As the day unfolded the prices were still being pushed by a powerful buying bench determined to get stock after many of these had missed out on day 1.
However, at every sale there are always terrific buying opportunities if buyers had done the hard yards and there due diligence reports.
This was the case in point for Dynamic Syndications, where one lot did slip through the net and we were ready to pounce - and what a gem it was !
We swooped on our 5th yearling for the sale, when at just $80,000 lot 332 was knocked down to Team Dynamic.
It was a superb filly by Australia's Best Stallion REDOUTE'S CHOICE x DIANA CAZADORA (CHI).
Champion Sire REDOUTE'S CHOICE needs little introduction. With 94.6% Runners : Earners to his credit, he is the Number 1 sire in Australia for Runners : Winners at 76.5% and the Number 1 stallion with a staggering 21.1% Runners : Black Type Performers. He stands at Arrowfield Stud and his current service fee is $137,000.
DIANA CAZADORA (CHI) (by Dushyantor) is an elite South American racehorse and now a highly valuable broodmare. She was foaled in Chile where she raced and was a star on the racetrack. She had 12 starts : 5 wins (3 at 2), 2 seconds, 2 thirds. She won from 1100m to 2000m. She was a Gr1 winner and also won 3 x Gr3 events. She ran 2nd in a Gr1 and Gr2 and was placed 3rd in a LR.
Her dam was a winning 1/2 sister to DOGMA - a Gr3 winning and a Gr1 placed mare and dam of a stakes performed Dario el Grande -a winner of 10 races and three times Group Placed.
DIANA CAZADORA'S 3rd Dam is DOÑA TATO - The Champion Mare in Chile. She was a triple Gr1 winner and won 9 races in total.
Bred on the incredibly successful Danehill over Sadler's Wells cross, this filly also rated in the Best Of Sale category.
Having been rated highly as a racing prospect by Team Dynamic and our independent bloodstock advisor Gary Mudgway and our retained veterinarian Dr John Walker, also having clean x-rays and passing an endoscopic evaluation, this filly was a standout buy of the sale.
Eligible for BOBS and the Magic Millions, we simply cannot believe the great price we secured her for in the sale ring.
Because of her outstanding conformation and pedigree we have decided to wait before allocating a trainer to this filly. We will make that decision in the near future.
We head into Day 3 of the sale having secured 5 yearling fillies for $400,000 - an average of $80,000.
Lot 4 MORE THAN READY x QUICK BLUSH $125,000 + GST
