Aussie Success For
Starspangledbanner
Starspangledbanner made it
two winners from two Australian runners when 2yo colt
Surfin’ Safari won at Newcastle on Sunday.
Prepared on the track by
Paul Perry, Surfin’ Safari was an $80,000 Inglis Easter Session 2 purchase for his trainer from the Middlebrook Valley Lodge draft.
Surfin’ Safari is the eighth winner from nine to race, from the stakes-placed mare
Lake Alexandrina, a half-sister to
Golden Slipper winner Marauding.
Currently covering a limited book of mares at
Rosemont Stud in Victoria, Starspangledbanner is due to return to Coolmore Ireland in 2015.
He has left
11 first crop winners in the Northern Hemisphere this year from limited runners led by
Gr1 winner The Wow Signal and Gr2 winner Anthem Alexandra.
His first Australian runner is the stakes-winner Of The Brave.
Dynamic Syndications have a Starpandledbanner 2yo filly in training with Peter and Paul Snowden.
Named PICKERSGILL (after Mary Pickersgill, the lady who sewed the original Starspangledbanner Flag that flew at Fort McHenry), our filly continues to please the Snowden Team and will be aiming towards the trials in 2-3 weeks.
