All good things come to those who wait !
NO IFS OR BUTS – a flashy 4yo son of
Arrowfield Stud’s resident sire Not A Single Doubt from the mare
Sutton Review, resumed from a spell on Sunday at Lismore in a Set Weights Maiden.
Trainer Matty Dunn and top jockey Timothy Bell combined in an effortless display.
NO IFS OR BUTS recorded Dynamic Syndications 142nd Individual Winner and was our 400th RACE WIN by a horse selected by the Dynamic Syndications team of Dean and Adam Watt in just on 9 years.
Sent out a very short priced
$1.40 favourite, he won like a good thing should, as he demoralised his peers in recording a much deserved win for his
“ALL GIRL Ownership Team.”
NO IFS OR BUTS won Race 3 on the programme -
THE BOWLO LUXURY CABINS EVANS HEAD MAIDEN PLATE 1200m. He carried 59.0kgs and the race was run on a Good 3 surface.
NO IFS OR BUTS stopped the clock in a time of: 1:10.52 (Last 600m: 0:35.30)
NO IFS OR BUTS was eased down in the run to the post but still recorded a whopping margin of
7.5 lengths x 0.5 length.
This margin equaled “
THE BIGGEST WINNING MARGIN” recorded at Lismore since new records were kept from the 1999/2000 racing season.
Only once before had a margin of 7.5 lengths been posted which was recorded by ZIGMONT when winning over 1200m on 6/12/2009 but he only carried 56.5kgs.
NO IFS OR BUTS has now taken his career summary to: 13-1:4:2 and Prizemoney: $36,380.
Whilst it took 13 starts to break through, this son of
NOT A SINGLE DOUBT had always shown above average ability but mental immaturity and some bad luck in races had combined to prevent him from scoring.
However first up from a spell and more mature, our big and strong horse was ready and didn’t let his team of supporters down.
Having previously posted 12 starts for 4 seconds and 2 thirds, he was certainly due to break through.
At his first preparation he ran 2nd on debut at Gosford and then ran third at Randwick on a heavy track in a Saturday Open 2yo event.
At his second preparation, he ran first up on Magic Millions Day in the big $100,000 maiden but drew poorly and was off the track throughout. Then he posted 2 seconds and a third at Kembla and Newcastle before he was sent up to Newcastle trainer Darren Smith. He had two starts for Darren for an unlucky second at Muswellbrook.
He was then sent up to Matty Dunn at Murwillumbah and had his first start at Grafton in their Big Maiden but drew the carpark and lead throughout before running out of petrol. He then ran like a tired horse when 4th at Ballina at his next start, so he was sent for a spell. He had done a good job in the preparation with 2 trials and through difficult circumstances, had 3 different trainers.
This time in work, Matty Dunn knew what he had to work with, and after a freshen-up and under his training system, he had a strong and sound horse with obvious ability to work with.
He was then sent to the barrier trials at Deagon where he recorded
a strong trial win by 3.5 lengths in quick time and has returned to the races in this event after 17 weeks between runs and was simply awesome.
Matty Dunn had elected to change the gear the horse was wearing. He removed the tongue tie, straight bit and winkers and put on blinkers and a lugging bit.
Fresh, fit and healthy and ready to run, leading pilot Timothy Bell was asked to head down from Brisbane to Lismore to ride him. Timmy agreed to our request and the rest is history, the pair recorded an equal record margin.
It has proved a valuable and astute commercial decision by Dynamic Syndications to join forces with Matty Dunn. His facilities are excellent and he’s based just 15 minutes drive south of Coolangatta airport, so we have the ability to take our horses either side of the boarder to win races.
Specifically we take this opportunity to congratulate the big team of ladies that race this Magic Millions horse with Dynamic Syndications.
