Exciting filly
Payroll won’t run in Saturday’s $120,000 Atlantic Jewel Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley but she could end up in the
$1 million Crown Oaks (2500m).
PAYROLL - Exciting 3yo Filly
Trainer Richard Laming said he was considering the Flemington feature for the daughter of
Not A Single Doubt ex Workhard, who worked over 1000m alongside stablemate Refectory at Moonee Valley on Tuesday, covering her final 400m in 24.33 seconds.
Thrilled with her gallop, Laming said
Payroll would resume in the Listed Cap D’antibes Stakes (1100m), before heading towards the Group 1 Schweppes Thousand Guineas (1600m) and then the Gr1 Oaks.
“We’ll probably keep her for Flemington and the 1100m fillies race on Saturday week, which is then two weeks into the Thousand Guineas Prelude (1400m),” Laming said.
“The Thousand Guineas is the target at this stage so we’ll head that way but I’ve got the Oaks in the back of my mind.
“She’s such a natural, big striding filly and I think she’ll definitely get the mile (1600m) but there’s just something there that indicates that she might get a trip.
“She’s come back bigger and stronger, she didn’t have a hard preparation and Dwayne (Dunn) said she felt terrific and she didn’t really get out of second gear today.”
A dominant winner over subsequent Stakes winner The Barrister on debut at Sale, Payroll then had little luck in Adelaide, before finishing runner-up behind Black Vanquish in the Redoute’s Choice Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield.
Dynamic Syndications purchased a fantastic colt by SNITZEL from WORKHARD
at the Magic Millions Yearling Sales earlier this year, prior to seeing his 3/4 sister PAYROLL head to the racetrack.
PAYROLL is the first foal of Workhard whilst our colt (below) is her second foal.
Our colt is in the care of Hall Of Fame Trainer GAI WATERHOUSE.
