The Listed Inglis Debutant Stakes at Caulfield on Wednesday might not have had a Dynamic runner but it certainly had us watching closely. In a race filled with well-bred and expensive yearlings, the runner that attracted the close interest of us here at Dynamic was an Exceed and Excel filly with a wonderful pedigree.
Overreach is a three quarter sister to Dynamic Syndications own Gr1 winner Reward for Effort and showed that she might have the ability to produce the goods on track as well. On Wednesday she appeared in her first race start where she finished 2nd only 1.3 lengths back to the eventual winner, Villa Verde. Although inexperience probably beat her, she showed that she had plenty of ability just like her three-quarter brother, Reward for Effort. The impressive run did not surprise us here at Dynamic as we are well aware what an outstanding pedigree that she has and what this family can do on the racetrack.
Reward for Effort was a sensational horse on track winning four races from 10 starts (all at Black Type level) before being retired to stud. Included in these stakes victories were the LR Blue Diamond Preview as a 2yo, the LR Sir John Monash Stakes as a 3yo, the Gr3 Concorde Stakes as a 4yo and a most impressive win in the Gr1 Blue Diamond during his 2yo career.

Overreach, although still immature, definitely has the potential to race at the top level and we expect on her first up display that a stakes victory is only around the corner. She will definitely improve on her run yesterday and this debut shows just how impressive this family is. Reward for Effort is wonderfully bred by Exceed and Excel and out of Rory’s Jester dual stakes winning mare Miss Prospect. We knew when we bought him that he was something special and he did not disappoint.
Overreach is also by Exceed and Excel and out of the Snippets mare Bahia. Bahia is a ½ sister to Reward for Effort making Overreach a three quarter sister in blood to Reward for Effort!
Although never offered up for public sale, there is a big opinion of this filly within her stable that has filtered out to our spies, due largely to the family bloodlines.
Reward for Effort currently stands at Chatswood Stud for a fee of $11,000. He was the most popular first season sire in Victoria last year and looks set to have another full book again this season. For more information on sending a mare to Reward for Effort, please contact Chatswood Stud or simply send an email to info@chatswoodstud.com.au

The right breeding lines give you the best opportunity for racetrack results and this has been vital to the success of Dynamic Syndications over the years. We are extremely happy but not surprised to see such a close relation of Reward for Effort already showing us that she has genuine ability this early in her career. We expect to see her winning stakes as she matures and begins to learn more about being a racehorse.
Then of course, we can’t wait to see the 2yo’s by Reward For Effort hit the track in a few years time.
