DREAM CHOICE (4yo Gelding by Redoute’s Choice – Patou) has put in a superb performance to win right on the line at a big price at the ATC meeting transferred to Wyong on Wednesday afternoon.
In sizzling Class Record Time of 1.17.99, DREAM CHOICE became only the second horse in history at Wyong to break the magical 1:18:00 mark for the 1350m and he was just 2/100ths of a second off equaling the Track Record.
Dream Choice scored by a narrow 1/2 Head x 1 Length margin. It was the determined fashion in this Benchmark 70 Liquor Legends Handicap over 1350m carrying 55.0kgs after the 3.0kgs claim for Lester Grace that was so impressive. After marginally missing the start, Dream Choice mustered up speed and sat outside the leader for much of the race, as was the instructions to young 3.0 kg apprentice jockey. Despite a strong pace throughout the event, Dream Choice looked to be going well sitting at the girth of the Gai Waterhouse trained favourite City Of Light wearing the Star Thoroughbreds colours. Rounding the home turn, the Gai Waterhouse runner was quickly headed by Dream Choice and then a swooper named Fireball hit the front on our outside. In a determined ride by Lester Grace and a tremendous fighting will by Dream Choice, the pair dug deep and managed to beat off his rival getting the bob in right on the line.
It was a strong and valiant performance for the continually improving gelding and a just reward for his hard working trainer, David Payne who has done an excellent job with our horse. Full credit must also go to 3kg claiming apprentice Lester Grace who had his first ride in Dynamic colours for a win.
This brings Dream Choice’s overall record to 19 starts for 3 wins, 6 placings and $108,935 prizemoney. A BIG congratulations to the successful team of owners who have experienced a whirlwind of emotions with this half-brother to the Dean Watt syndicated Golden Slipper winner,
POLAR SUCCESS.
CONGRATULATIONS TO :

This was an extremely well deserved first city triumph for Dream Choice after a plethora of placing in city grade leading into this race. Dream Choice had placed five times in the city before winning this race and it was great to see a little bit of luck going his way at Wyong.
He has shown genuine ability right from the very beginning after he finished second on debut at Rosehill in late 2010 behind Saramenha and then a gallant third placing behind Foxwedge at his next start. This preparation David Payne has got him in sensational order which was first witnessed when he ran a very unlucky 2nd at Canterbury under lights on the 16th of November. That night he went down narrowly to Stakes Winner Uate and many would argue that the result may have been different if he wasn’t impeded by a riderless horse.
After a couple of runs where things didn’t go our way following his good run first up, we expected to see his best foot forward at Wyong despite most punters and the bookies giving him little hope at the luxury price of $26.00.
Our expert ratings system had him assessed as a $7.00 3rd favourite on paper and we could not believe it when the bookies were offering 25-1. Last start, Nathan Berry rode him a treat and hoped off the horse and gave us all some valuable insight explaining to us that he would be a great chance of winning if he rolled along in front and dropped back marginally in distance. A big thank you goes out to Nathan who gave us the advice and for his regular riding of Dream Choice at track work. His wise words combined with the brilliant horsemanship of trainer David Payne, assisted in Dream Choice getting the victory today.
There is no doubt that the pull in the weights assisted this victory as he is not a big horse and weight certainly affects him. The 3.0kgs off for Lester was certainly a major assisting factor.
A decision on Dream Choice’s next race will be made in the coming days after he arrives home at David Payne’s stables and gets a well-earned rest tonight. The team at Dynamic is delighted for all involved and hopefully, it is not too long before we see Dream Choice return to the winner’s circle with more smiling Dynamic clients.
The win of Dream Choice today recorded the
26th Win for the season by Dynamic Syndications selected yearlings and our 3
14th Win since October 2005.
We are confident that our latest crop of yearlings and Ready To Run 2yo’s will be adding handsomely to this tally in the years to come.
