Dynamic Syndications and Leading trainer Chris Waller have teamed up again to win yet another city race when PERPLEXITY, a graduate of the Inglis Classic Sale, continues to show he has a promising career infront of him by winning with authority the EGAR BRITT 100th Birthday Bm 70 Hcp over 2200m at Warwick Farm this afternoon.
To show what an incredible trainer of middle distance horses Chris Waller is, he had three runners and produced the trifecta with Instrumentalist 2nd and Bit Of A Hero 3rd.
If ever any young rider was in doubt or needed to hone their skills on how to ride the perfect 2200m event they need to look no further than the replay of this event.
Jumping away from barrier 5, Jimmy allowed Perplexity to get into a rhythm for the first 100m before easing back and across, to sit one off the fence 4 pairs back in the field of 8 and then just got Perplexity to settle into a rhythm and bow his head and hack along, spending no petrol. Tracking the top weight and eventual runner-up Instrumental out of the straight, Jimmy had a relaxed horse under him and just bowled along. At the 900m the race changed complexion as the horses up front put some pressure on and started to string the field along.
Jimmy bided his time and then at the 650m made his move 3 deep, working into the race nicely around the turn to hit the lead on straightening.
Perplexity maintained his tempo all the way to the post to record a tough staying victory, defeating his stablemate by 1 length with 3 lengths back to third.
Jimmy Cassidy when he returned to scale to our owners said that he was never in doubt of winning and the horse was a tough stayer. He can give you a few lengths when asked and maintain that tempo. He will run further for sure and be a better horse after a spell but to keep going now as he has a few more races in him yet.
Chris Waller when interviewed was also complementary when he said he had thought the horse would want the 2200m trip having been unlucky over the 1800m previously and he confirmed his theory. We should have some fun.
Chris has done a good job with the son of Lonhro from the Danehill mare Secret Haze. From 9 starts in total and 7 starts this preparation, he has 3 wins, 1 second, 1 third and won $79,715.00 to date and the future looks bright.
Congratulations to the Dynamic Team that race PERPLEXITY:
