MILANOVA - The most expensive broodmare ever sold at public auction in Australia has produced her first stakes-winner in Ireland overnight.
Three year-old Galileo filly Pretty Perfect was a winner at her second race start at Leopardstown last year for Aidan O'Brien and overnight, she made her seasonal debut in the Salsabil Stakes a Listed Race over 1m2f (2000m) at Navan. Glamorous Approach (New Approach) was beaten three and a half lengths for second with Dermot Weld’s Emergent (Oasis Dream) another eight and a half lengths back in third.
MILANOVA
She became the first stakes-winner for her high profile dam Milanova and the 208th Stakes Winner for Coolmore’s Champion sire Galileo (Sadler’s Wells), when she bolted away to win by three and a half lengths.
"She had good form last year and the maiden she won has worked out well," said winning rider Colm O´Donoghue.
"She kept galloping, is by Galileo and you would have to think the Oaks is an option."
UK Racing Post are also predicting more is in store for the blue-blooded filly.
Racing Post reported –
“PRETTY PERFECT won in the style of a very good filly, making all and stretching nicely on the uphill run to the line to put daylight between herself and the rest.”
“The form of her 7f (1400m) Leopardstown maiden win from last autumn had been franked by Somehow [finishing third] earlier this month and she (Pretty Perfect) looks like developing into a genuine Oaks candidate on this evidence. Given her liking of front-running, Chester could be the place for her now and it is worth noting that Diamondsandrubies (Gr1 Winner by Fastnet Rock) won the Cheshire Oaks after finishing third here (this race) in 2015.”
This result was of specific interest to Dynamic Syndications and our owners.
Milanova has had six named foals, four have raced, three are winners, the last two both conceived in Ireland, following her first four years at stud in Australia.
Milanova was bought by Coolmore for $5million at the 2008 Inglis Broodmare Sale from a dispersal of Tyreel Stud stock and was immediately sent back to the Northern Hemisphere.
A Group 3 winning daughter of champion sire Danehill from the family of champion sires Encosta de Lago and Flying Spur, Milanova is a full sister to dual Group 1 winner and successful sire Holy Roman Emperor (IRE), best known in Australia as the sire of Caulfield Cup / Australian Derby hero Mongolian Khan.
Holy Roman Emperor was back in Australia for Coolmore last spring at a fee of $22,000 and covered 55 mares.
Milanova has two daughters at stud in Australia - Evolve and Pretty Flamingo, so their owners will follow the progress of Pretty Perfect with great interest.
Dynamic Syndications have purchased the first 2 foals (both fillies) of Pretty Flamingo.
