The start of Autumn racing got underway this weekend with Caulfield taking centre stage playing host to eight stakes races on Saturday. Time and time again we see the big guns rise up when carnival time arrives such was the case with Peter Moody this weekend as he saluted with a stakes winning double.
Moody’s good day started when Mulaazem showed great courage to go on and win the Gr2 Hyland Autumn Stakes. Moody always looked set for a good day with a number of his runners well in commission in early markets coming into Saturday’s race day. Mulaazem got the better of his rivals and managed to hold off a hot field of 3yo colts and geldings to become Moody’s first stakes winner of the 2013 Melbourne Autumn Carnival.
Peter Moody had a stakes winning double at Caulfield on Saturday
The fun certainly did not stop there for camp Moody as he went on to record another stakes victory on the card. The Moody trained There’s Only One managed to beat home the Mick Price trained favourite Loveyamadly in the final race of the day, the Gr3 Bellmaine Stakes. This was another quinella for Dynamic Trainers with the Caulfield based trainers fighting out the finish in yet another stakes race. With Moody and Price both in good form leading into the big stakes races, we are sure that results like this are a sign of things to come.
Mick and Peter are currently preparing horses to don the Dynamic silks over the coming months with both trainers hopeful of much success with the Dynamic crop of horses. Peter trains the Dynamic duo of Medvedev and Magniloquent which both showed in their most recent preparations that they are horses with serious ability. A big congratulations must go to the owners of both horses who had to be very patient whilst waiting for their respective gelding to live up to their outstanding pedigrees.
3yo Magnus gelding Magniloquent finished his most recent prep no longer a maiden and also a Saturday placed galloper. After a much deserved rest in the paddock, Magniloquent looks to have taken another step in the right direction as he has again matured and grown into his body nicely. He is currently undergoing light work at Wild Oaks Pre-Training farm in preparation for his return to the Moody stable. The boys at the farm report him to feel good undersaddle and can see a very honest professional racehorse.
Magniloquent will be looking for more success during the Autumn
Medvedev is the other 3yo gelding in Peter’s care and he did a sensational job in his first preparation impressing the Moody camp to no end. Medvedev won two of his first five race starts as well as being incredibly luckless on 3 other occasions in the city grade. The time in the paddock would have done him the world of good as the Summer months are often the best time for a horse to mature in the paddock. He has just returned to light pre-training work at Mornington and should be approximately a month off joining Moody in his Caulfield stable for a tilt at more city races.

Mick Price is also busily preparing a Dynamic runner for a return to racing with Hirad almost ready to hit the track for another preparation. Hirad showed he has the genuine ability to become a nice racehorse but the racing Gods were not on his side during his first preparation. In his first two starts, Hirad’s saddle slipped making it extremely difficult for jockey Dale Smith to control the horse. To his credit and that of the horse, they were good enough to finish 3rd on both occasions not beaten far. This preparation the Not A Single Doubt gelding will be looking to take that next step and will have his first serious hit out with a jump out tomorrow. We are confident it will be little time before we see Hirad in the winner’s circle.
Hirad hopes to prove this prepartaion that he has the ability to match his looks
We wish all three horses and their owners the best of luck going forward in the coming preparation and hope we can see more positive results for the whole team. Peter, Mick and the rest of the Dynamic trainers will continue to gear up over the coming weeks for the Autumn carnival. Both astute Melbourne trainers will join us at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale in Melbourne in early March as we look to find more carnival horses for you to race with Dynamic.
