The
Peter Moody stable has been in Dynamic form throughout 2014 and the stables hot run of success continued over the weekend with
Group 1 Success at Royal Randwick on Saturday.
With Stakes Wins to
A Time For Julia, Spirits Dance, Moment Of Change, Bring Me The Maid etc in Melbourne over recent weeks, the stable brought their good fortunes to Sydney and quickly announced they will be a force to be reckoned with over
the Championships carnival.
In what was a magical hour for the Randwick based
Moody stable,
A Time For Julia franked herself as one of the most inform mares in the country with a blistering victory in the
Group 3 Roy Higgins Tribute Quality. After an impressive victory first up in Group 3 grade at Caulfield, the
Redoute’s Choice mare stamped herself as a serious Autumn contender running second behind Red Tracer in the Group 2 Millie Fox Stakes on an unsuitable rain affected surface.
On Saturday though,
A Time For Julia unleashed a devastating turn of speed to finish over the top of leader
Lilliburlero. After jumping from an outside barrier
A Time For Julia had no luck in transit being posted 3 deep without cover for the entire trip at the rear of the field. Swinging as one of the widest into the straight, the
Redoute’s Choice mare did not look a hope of running down the leaders. Following some vigorous urgings from jockey Blake Shinn,
A Time For Julia sprouted wings over the final 100m to grab
Lilliburlero in the shadows of the post.
It didn’t take long for the
Moody stable to enjoy the hospitality of the Randwick Winners room for the second time on the day when securing
Group 1 glory in the Randwick Guineas with consistent 3yo colt
Dissident.
Putting the writing on the wall with a hard fought victory in the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes at his previous outing the Moody trained Galloper went out at the luxury price of $11/1 for the feature event. After beginning well Jimmy Cassidy drove the colt into the leading division during the early stages, in what was a strongly run affair, with the field spread out over what appeared twenty plus lengths. After looking like he was a beaten force soon after straightening the pumper lifted
Dissident over the concluding stages to fight back after being headed by
El Roca to win by a head on the line with a further length back to
Eurozone.
