It's only five weeks since
REDOUTE’S CHOICE claimed his
Third Sires' Premiership and already he’s stamped his authority on the new 2014/15 racing season.
REDOUTE'S CHOICE
On Saturday, the three time Australian Champion Sire recorded his
117th and
118th Stakes Winners, as well as two somewhat unlucky, hard-fought Group 2 placings by
Lankan Rupee (MVRC Ian McEwen Stakes) and
Royal Descent (ATC Chelmsford Stakes).
PANZER DIVISION
3yo colt
Panzer Division who had been denied in a developed print by his stablemate
Scissor Kick (also a son of
Redoute's Choice) last start in the ATC Up and Coming S. Gr3, had no trouble this time with a dominant display in the $125,000
ATC Ming Dynasty Quality H. 1400m Gr3.
Ridden by talented hoop
Tye Angland, there was no hesitation taking
Panzer Division forward early from a wide draw to control the tempo with the $1.35 millions colt
Valentia in close attendance until the 250-metre mark. Then Tye let the brakes off and
Panzer Division lengthened stride to score by 1.3 lengths from runner-up Shooting To Win, who finished fast with the same margin back to promising filly Lady Sharpaova in third position.
It was
Panzer Division's second win from three starts (with a nose second in between), and gives his trainer
Paul Messara the option of starting him alongside
Scissor Kick in the $1 million
ATC Golden Rose S. G1.
Paul Messara said, "It's a hard carrot not to take, but we'll have a look at him before making any definite decision.
"He's a lovely horse that'll be even better when he gets over further and there's plenty of races for him this spring."
Panzer Division is by
Redoute's Choice ex Desert Fight (by Hussonet) the dam was a
dual Gr1 winner and Champion 2YO Filly in Chile.
Panzer Division was purchased for $120,000 by
Paul Messara at the 2013 Inglis Easter Sale.
The
Redoute's Choice / Hussonet cross has now produced
3 Stakes Winners including last season's
Champion South African 2YO filly Majmu and
I'm All The Talk.
After the dust settled,
Redoute's Choice had another Stakes Winner in Perth when 4yo
Rock Magic became the stallions
118th Stakes Winner and incredibly his
21st Stakes Winner from Redoute's Choice's 2009 crop.
Rock Magic
Rock Magic won the $100,000 WATC Farnley S. 1400m LR.
It was
Rock Magic's fourth straight win and takes his career record to 16 starts: 8 wins, three placings & $265,965.
Rock Magic, is from the from
NZ Gr1 winner Rockabubble (by Bubble Gum Fellow).
Originally trained by
Paul Messara after the colt failed to reach his reserve price at the 2011 Inglis Easter Sale. Rock Magic was transferred to the
Chris Gangemi stable two months ago.
Redoute's Choice and his sire son
Snitzel are going head to head in front on the current
Australian General Sires' table.
Earlier this year
Dynamic Syndications purchased a spectacular colt by
Redoute's Choice from the Gr3 winning Zabeel mare Zapurple.
