RIVER WILD looks the “Real Deal” from GAI WATERHOUSE Stables

Get out your “Black Books” and sharpen your pencil – RIVER WILD looks the “Real Deal” and must be included in your Spring Carnival calculations.

Whilst stakes races took centre stage on Saturday around Australia, there was one runner that may have slipped under the radar.

This was the ultra-impressive blue-blooded maiden winner who was taken to Kembla for an easy demolition job and may well find himself coming to centre stage sooner rather than later.

It was only a maiden race and his opposition were moderate but River Wild was very, very impressive.

RIVER WILD as a yearling

RIVER WILD (3yo c Fastnet Rock ex Romantic River) — remember the name because this colt looks an exciting prospect.

Fastnet Rock has been churning out the talented three year-old maiden winners of late and we MUST add the Gai Waterhouse trained colt River Wild to that list.

Gr1 Winner - AQUA D'AMORE & Gr2 Winner - PETROLOGY

A three-quarter brother to Coolmore’s former brilliant Group 1 winning mare AQUA D’AMORE and the full brother to Group 2 winner PETROLOGY, River Wild dished out an absolute thrashing to Golden Slipper winner Sebring’s full sister Falkenberg over the 1300 metre maiden.

River Wild led and controlled the race before opening up to win by six lengths in a thoroughly dominant but scarily effortless display.

Like his father Fastnet Rock, River Wild was passed in at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale and retained to race by Coolmore so runs in the familiar navy blue.

He is the eighth winner for good producer Romantic River (USA), who is 22 and has not had a foal since River Wild was born in 2012.

Entered for the Group 1 MRC Caulfield Guineas, River Wild may well step up as a real dark horse of the spring.

As the saying goes – timing is everything and Dynamic Syndications and Gai Waterhouse currently have on offer the magnificent First Daughter of Champion mare AQUA D’AMORE.

So the co-owners who have already purchased their share and those that will over the coming days will be following the progress of AQUA D’AMORE’S ¾ little brother very closely as any black-type he can earn will add nicely to our filly’s already impeccable pedigree.
