The strength of the thoroughbred market is a gauge on the economy so with the good news figures and green shoot economies around the world it was no surprise to astute industry participants that the
2015 New Zealand Bloodstock Ready to Run Sale of Two-Year-Olds was set to be a Cracker at Karaka.
By the
Close of Business Day 1 of the two day sale glass ceilings were shattered everywhere such was the buoyancy of the international buyers bench and local demand.
Day 1 saw key statistics across the board well ahead of last year’s record breaking Sale and large gains have been made in comparison to the first day of 2014.

This average is the highest ever recorded at a two-year-old sale in the Southern Hemisphere.

NZB’s Managing Director Andrew Seabrook was pleased with the day’s results and is excited for the second day session.
Seabrook commented. “It has been a really encouraging start with the best day of selling in the Sale’s history recorded,”
"We have had a strong international buying bench and the bidding in the ring has been very competitive. There is plenty of depth to the catalogue and there is still some really good buying to be found in the middle market.
"Traditionally Day 2 is stronger so we hope to build on today’s results with another good day of selling tomorrow.”

She was selected to be aimed at our
CLASSICS & CUPS races as a 3yo + individual, where the
big prizemoney is on offer and black-type earned ensures outstanding residual value upon racetrack retirement.
We joined forces with
GAI WATERHOUSE for the Hall Of Fame trainer to put her sparkle into the filly as we aim for these
big race riches.
We originally left our filly in
NZ at Rich Hill Stud
on their magnificent pastures for an additional 4 months to maximise
the nutritional benefits in the NZ soil before the onset of winter.
Our filly arrived from NZ on 12 June and has flourished since arriving from the cooler kiwi climate.
She has filled out and developed significantly since her arrival and as photos taken over the weekend highlight,
she
is a magnificent, athletic, well grown filly and will continue to grow
into a superb filly by the Spring of 2016 when the big races commence.
SAVABEEL can do no wrong in Australasia with 312 Individual winners, 43 Stakes Winners including 10 Gr1 Winners. In fact, he is the most potent source of Gr1 success in Australasia.
Our filly is a daughter of SWAROVSKI (by Pins – a son of Snippets).
The SAVABEEL over PINS cross is statistically the best cross for Savabeel at this point.
There have been
20 runners bred on the cross for 13 winners and 4 placegetters including 3 Stakes Winners – BRAMBLES, DOWAGER QUEEN and LOPOV.
