Congratulations to owner / rider Rebecca Farrow for her excellent result when finishing in
3rd Place in the OPEN LARGE HACK CLASS at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, conducted on Easter Saturday.
Rebecca was aboard ex Dynamic Syndications racehorse PERSISTENCY (8yo gelding Testa Rossa x Rorkes) who competed at this event under the competition name
STAGE PRESENCE.
Adam Watt with retired Dynamic Syndications racehorse PERSISTENCY at the Sydney Royal on Saturday
Adam Watt from Dynamic Syndications went to the Show on Saturday to catch up with “PERCY” and to watch our retired racehorse “strut his stuff” in the big arena.
Retired in 2012,
PERSISTENCY first competed in 2014 at the Sydney Royal Easter Show where he WON the NOVICE Class and then on the same programme went through to place
3rd in the Open Class that year.
PERSISTENCY in 2014 when competing
Back then his competition name had been registered as “CS Masquerade”.
Not long after that competition,
PERSISTENCY found his way to the stable of leading rider Rebecca Farrow.
Since then, it’s been a bit of a bumpy ride for
“Percy” because he was struck down with colic last year and was in need of emergency surgery to survive. In his typical fighting nature he pulled through.
Rebecca Farrow and STAGE PRESENCE being awarded 3rd place in the OPEN LARGE HACK Class
Nursed back to health, Percy was back on the scene this year and despite taking on the Best Horses in his Class from around Australia, Percy again finished in 3rd Position, which is a major feat for a young horse who had been so gravely ill only a matter of a few months earlier.
Persistency –
a ¾ brother in blood to REWARD FOR EFFORT, only raced once where tragically he bowed both his tendons in his debut run. He had shown ability in two lead in barrier trials prior to his first race start.
Persistency was retired immediately and found a new home where he was nursed back to health and then commenced being taught his new career of competing in equestrian pursuits.
The 16.2hh stunning looking gelding has made an impact on the equestrian scene and to be placed in this Open Class event in what is regarded one of the competitive divisions in the equestrian world is a marvellous achievement.
Persistency is a tremendous ambassador for retired racehorses going on and having a wonderful post-racing lifestyle.
We look forward to seeing
STAGE PRESENCE (aka as CS Masquerade / Persistency / Percy) at the 2017 Sydney Royal Easter Show and following his progress through the many competitive shows between now and then.
