SAVABEEL 2yo’s Breeze Up In Fine Style Ahead of NZ READY TO RUN Sale

New Zealand Bloodstock’s Ready-to-Run Sale Breeze Ups have now concluded ahead of next month’s sale at Karaka.

The biggest talking point of the breeze ups was the exceptional ability on display from progeny of New Zealand’s champion sire Savabeel whose youngsters were to the fore breezing-up in quick times across the board.

Ohukia Lodge produced the quickest time of the day and overall, when their Savabeel colt (Lot 127) clocked a time of 10.07. He was paired with another Savabeel colt (Lot 180) who posted a similar time of 10.09.

Kilgravin Lodge produced a Savabeel colt out of stakes-winning mare Marveen. Catalogued as Lot 125, he breezed in at a time of 10.28.

Continuing the trend, Phoenix Park sent out a Savabeel colt (Lot 148) who breezed in smart time. Lot 148 is a three-quarter brother to stakes winner Chambord and he stopped the clock at 10.49.

NZB’s International Bloodstock Manager John Cameron commented “I’ve been very impressed by the overall high-quality of the horses that have breezed up over the past two days.”

“We congratulate the consignors and preparers as their horses have breezed up in a very professional manner.

“This Sale has continued to produce outstanding horses over the years and with the high-quality catalogue for this year’s Sale, we can expect this tradition to continue. History tells us that there are Group One horses in the stalls.”

Dynamic Syndications purchased 3 yearlings by champion sire Savabeel this year and unsurprisingly each of the three have shown excellent ability in early training.

Two were out of PINS broodmares, both are sold out.

ELDER PRICE

The first is a colt out of the mare On Broadway who has been named ELDER PRICE after the star character of the Book Of Mormons hit stage show.

The second was a filly from the mare Frankly.

The most expensive filly we have ever purchased for syndication, she is also sold out and is awaiting her racing name.

The other Savabeel we purchased was a colt that we have a huge opinion of.

He is from the mare TIARA (by O’Reilly).

We are yet to go to market with him, as we intended to finish the year with a bang by offering a super colt by the super sire.

Impressively, on displayed early raw ability, he could be destined for high quality racetrack success.

He’s been specifically purchased to be our Classics candidate – a horse to aim at the life changing races as a 3yo such as the Guineas, Derbies and Cups.

He is bred on what is statistically the “Best Cross” for Savabeel progeny, the Savabeel x O’Reilly cross.

It has already produced 10 Stakes Winners including 4 at Gr1 level.

Had our colt, been offered in the breeze-ups, we have little doubt he would have been the quickest.

On what he has shown already - he could have been a sale topper.

He’s our own Ready-To-Run candidate without having to go into a bidding war to own him and paying 3 to 4 times more today, than the $160,000 we paid for him as a yearling.
