No trainer has recorded more wins over the carnival, with the highlight for Waterhouse being when she snapped her Kennedy Oaks drought when Pinot won the Group I last Thursday.
PINOT (by Pierro) wins the VRC Oaks for Gai & Adrian
Like Pinot, Savapinski is relatively inexperienced and was having just her seventh start when she blew them away in the Matriarch Stakes (2000m).
Four days of Waterhouse-Bott magic, that’s what we witnessed as Gai Waterhouse and her training partner Adrian Bott completed a rare spring feat of preparing a black type winner on each of the four days at Flemington after lightly-raced mare Savapinski ran clear for a commanding win in the group 2 Matriarch Stakes.
Gai Waterhouse racked up a winner on every day of the Flemington carnival as the Victoria Racing Club ambassador capped a huge week when Savapinski ran her rivals into the ground in the Matriarch Stakes.
The victory of Savapinski in the Gr2 Matriarch Stakes provided the Waterhouse and Bott stable their fifth win for the carnival (all in stakes races), with a winner on each of the four days at Flemington.

“It’s fantastic,’’ Waterhouse said. “They’ve said we’ve won the trainers award for having the most amount of winners, that’s something I’ve never done before. It’s a big thrill.”
