Congratulations to all our Dynamic Owners of STREET COMIC (Street Cry x Ah Ha) on your horse’s
win at the Sunshine Coast on Wednesday afternoon.
This was a mid-week metropolitan meeting transferred because of the current closure of Eagle Farm.
The Robert Heathcote trained STREET COMIC was well overdue for this victory, having been racing very honestly but without luck and there is no doubt this was a well-deserved result for Owners and the Horse.
Sent out at a luxurious $4.80, it was a huge price for a horse with his formlines and we understand many of our owners took full advantage of the generosity.
STREET COMIC won Race 3 the SKY RACING REPLAYS Maiden Plate 2200m by 2 lengths x 0.1 length in 2:22.40 last 600m 38.45 secs.
For the first time this preparation he drew a good barrier coming up with the rails, instead of the carpark.
As lead in races into this event,
STREET COMIC had resumed over the short 1400m, which didn’t suit and he was beaten 5.7 lengths.
Then second-up he was 5th over 1600m but only 1.4 lengths away in a race where he had no luck in the run.
Third up over 1666m at Ipswich, he got back to last and stormed home to run 4th beaten 1.8 lengths.
At his fourth start over 2180m, he was the subject to massive interference which cost him victory but he still flew home to miss by 0.8 length.
There was a race just 5 days later at Doomben over 2070m so we backed him up and again, a poor barrier and trapped wide in transit saw him finish 3rd to
another Dynamic Syndications runner ASALWAS beaten 1.5 lengths.
This was his 6th run of the preparation and with 20 days between runs he was fit, well, ready and at his ideal distance. Add in a barrier 1 draw, he had his hoof on the till.
Simply we felt we just needed average racing luck to win.
STREET COMIC - Pre-Race Parade
STREET COMIC jumped well and pilot Ronnie Stewart was allowed to roll forward before the pressure came across from the outside. As they headed out of the straight, Ronnie had
STREET COMIC sitting 3 pairs back on the fence, getting a lovely trail on genuine tempo.
The field stayed in this format until just before the home turn where there were now 3 leaders across the track in front of him and a 2 length gap back to
Street Comic.
As they turned for home, Ronnie had a lap full of horse and we were expecting him to steer into the centre of the track. However that wasn’t the case, as he tried to go through a needle eye gap in front of him that closed before he got there.
Street Comic was lucky he didn’t fall and as a result, he lost all momentum.
However Ronnie was extremely confident and balanced
Street Comic again. Then switched out off the heels of those in front. Once the horse saw daylight, he flew home to post a 2 length win over the favourite Star Echo with just 0.1 lengths back to We’re All Ears in third.

Street Comic did a good job after getting into trouble at the 250m to power away to win.
Sky Channel interviewer Michael Maxworthy (MM) said to trainer Robert Heathcote (RH): “Street Comic has been able to score a most authoritive win”
“Things have finally gone this guy’s (Street Comic’s) way after some ordinary alleys and bad luck but things were better today.”
Trainer ROBERT HEATHCOTE
Robert Heathcote replied: “Yes but also he came to us mid-prep and no trainer likes to get a horse half-way through a prep and he was a bit one paced.
“We gave them a spell and I brought him back and his runs have been good and he’s been leading up to a race like this but - let’s not get carried away and book flights for the Cox Plate just yet.
“He won that well and so he should have done. He was the form horse leading into the race and Ronnie gave us a few moments of caution at the 250m but once he came around them, he let down nicely.”
MM: “He’s had a couple of ordinary alleys but gate number 1 today, he was able to conserve a little bit of energy.”
RH: “I’ll take gate number 1 every time I start them the rest of my career.”
MM: “They win a few races and you got the money here with this guy, so he’s got the maiden out of the way and he can stay obviously.”
RH: “Yes – he’s by Street Cry and we all know what the Street Cry’s have been doing in Australia and Street Comic is a stout horse. He’s still learning his caper – that was his 12th run today.
“You know the Dynamic boys do a super job and they bring a lot of owners into the sport and just rewards to all for being patient for all connections.”
MM: “Yes well done to them all – Congratulations.
“He’s only lightly raced, that was just his 12th race and he’s cracked it for his maiden win but obviously these middle distance come staying horses, it takes them a while to get up to their right trip so now that he’s broken through, there’s no reason why he can’t really go on with it showing plenty of staying prowess.
“Street Comic has now had the 6 runs for Robert Heathcote (this preparation), improving all the while he finished 14th then 5th, 4th, 2nd, 3rd and then rings up win number 1 today.”
Well done to all connections !
