Sydney FC continued their 100% winning record at the start of this season’s Hyundai A-League with a third consecutive win to enjoy the view from the top of the ladder.
Milos Ninkovic latching onto a perfect Matt Simon header, scored late against a gallant Wellington Phoenix to secure the maximum three points.
The Sky Blues have a record of
20 goals with 0 conceded across the seven various competitive games including the three A-League matches so far this season.
Coach Graham Arnold said: “For me, it was a fantastic effort victory by our boys. I think we showed our fitness is very high. The second half we ran over the top of them.
“I felt there was only one team that looked like winning in the last twenty minutes and that was us.
“We had some good chances and they had some good chance and Danny Vukovic made some good saves when we needed.
“Overall I think that it was a good effort from us after the week we’ve had.”
Sydney FC’s next match is against an in-form Newcastle Jets away in Newcastle (Saturday 29th).
This appears likely to be a magical encounter as Newcastle Jets are also undefeated with a win and two draws from their first 3 matches.
Then the Sky Blues return home to Allianz Stadium on Saturday 5th November, for the “Big Blue” against Melbourne Victory
