The aptly named
Super One maintained his unbeaten record with an impressive win at Kranji on Sunday taking another event of the Singapore Golden Horseshoe Series with an easy victory in the
S$90,000 IRT Juvenile Stakes.
A $190,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale purchase,
Super One replicated his recent debut win, jumping fast for
Craig Newitt to race on the pace before forging clear to win by two and a quarter lengths.
Super One
"He put himself in the right spot from the start. I just let him do his own things for half of the race as he's got such a high cruising speed,” said Newitt.
"I was waiting for anything to come and challenge him, but he was doing it so easy. I switched him right on at the top of the straight, but once I knew the race was won, I shut it down in the last 200m.
"He's improved so much from his first run and he had another good blow today. The last Leg is in three weeks' time and we'll just have to keep him on top of his game.
"He's a two-year-old with the head of a five-year-old. He's just so professional and I think he's going to be even better as a three-year-old, probably a miler.”
Super One is the latest racetrack star for Yarraman Park's sire star I Am Invincible who had his service fee increased to $55,000 this season off the back of the wonderful job he’s doing at stud.
He’s had 100 runners ; 60 Winners ; 17 placed ; 5 Stakes Winners ; 7 Stakes Placed and earnings over $3 million and he has sired dual Gr1 Winner BRAZEN BEAU.
Young stallions simply do not go any better than I AM INVINCIBLE.
That’s why we purchased a super yearling by him at the Magic Millions this year.
