The first round of
Stud Farms Service Fee announcements have begun rolling out and we note that yearlings purchased by Dynamic Syndications in 2015 that certain sire fees have remained constant whilst others have seen significant increases.
The first two major farms out of the blocks were
Arrowfield in Australia and Waikato in New Zealand.
Both of these farms stand sires that we have purchased their yearlings in 2015.
Arrowfield Stud Announces 2015 Sire Fees
Just over a week after topping the Inglis Easter Sale as leading vendor (by aggregate), Arrowfield Stud has announced its 2015 stallion fees. Arrowfield Chairman John Messara says, "We are delighted the past year has produced some superlative racing and sales results for our stallions.
We have set our service fees to reflect both their achievements and their genuine commercial appeal in the marketplace.
However, we are also very mindful of the pressures and risks experienced by breeders and so I trust our fees will afford every opportunity to breed profitably.
"Nothing gives us more pleasure than seeing our clients achieve their breeding, selling and racing ambitions and our entire team looks forward to helping them make the best decisions for their mares in 2015."
Dynamic Syndications have purchased yearlings for syndication by two of Arrowfield Stud’s stallions in 2015. They are:
Snitzel - $88,000 ($71,500)
His service fee has been on the rise over recent years and his fee has increased from$49,500 in 2013 to $71,500 in 2014 and to $88,000 in 2015.
At the Easter Yearling Sales,
SNITZEL set a Record Price for his progeny at $2.2 million
(36 Offered / 31 Sold –
Average $378,710 & Median $250,000).
We didn’t miss out buying the Snitzel’s having targeted them earlier in the year. We had anticipated that the sire was set for a big carnival and we were proved correct with both
Wandjina and Sweet Idea winning Gr1 events and the sire topping the sale with a yearling at $2.2 million.
We have purchased 4 yearlings this season by SNITZEL.
Colt ex Workhard – ½ brother to exciting PAYROLL for $125,000
Colt ex Huiskes – His Dam was a 2yo Stakes Winner for $70,000 (SOLD OUT)
Colt ex Tycoon Joy – He is a ½ brother to Gr1 Winner BENTLEY BISCUIT for $100,000
Filly ex Laurinel Argie – Full sister to RUSTIC AMBER from Gr2 Winning mare for $115,000
Not A Single Doubt - $33,000 ($33,000)
We purchased a filly by this outstanding sire of high quality winners
NOT A SINGLE DOUBT / CLOUDYGAZE filly – Mare won 5 times and is a ½ to a Gr2 winner for $85,000
This filly is set to be an early 2yo and is being targeted at the Magic Millions.
Waikato Stud New Zealand Announces 2015 Sire Fees
Meanwhile, across the Tasman, headlined by their
exceptional Cox Plate-winning stallion Savabeel, New Zealand's Waikato Stud has announced its 2015 sire fees.
Not surprisingly, after an exceptional year which now sees him with 8 individual Gr1 winners (four Gr1 winners this season) and 39 stakes-winners from his first seven crops, Savabeel's fee rises from $60,000 + GST in 2014 to $100,000 + GST in 2015
Savabeel - $100,000 + GST
Dynamic Syndications purchased a magnificent filly by this sensational sire who is now the Leading Sire in New Zealand.
SAVABEEL / SWAROVSKI (by Pins) filly for $70,000 + GST
There have only been 16 runners to date bred on this cross Savabeel / Pins cross. Incredibly 12 have won already including 3 Stakes Winners, with the best runner to date
BRAMBLES (Gr1), DOWAGER QUEEN (LR) and LOPOV (LR).
This is rated as an A+++ rating, the BEST you can achieve with a BEST OF SALE RATING of 3.0 the highest rated filly in the sale.
Then one generation extended pedigree of
ZABEEL over SNIPPETS adds in another 3 stakes winners
UNEARTHLY (Gr1), DO RA MI (Gr2) and ASAVANT (LR).
Whilst one further generation removal of
SIR TRISTRAM over LUNCHTIME adds in another 3 stakes winners
OVER (Gr1) and LR winners LITTLE TROUT and LONELY SHORE.
Statistic show Savabeel’s progeny perform as well in Australia as they do in New Zealand and also his Fillies are statistically better at winning Black Type than his Colts.
Total Runners: 421, Winners 282, Placed 66, Stakes Winners 39, Stakes Wins 77 and $35.5 million
Australia: Runners 211, Winners 143, Wins 408 Stakes Winners, 20 Stakes Wins 31, Earnings $20.8m

It will be interesting to review how the other major studs approach the setting of their service fees in 2015.
However on what has transpired to date with
Arrowfield and Waikato we are exceptionally well placed in the overall scheme of things.
We have purchased brilliant yearlings at now absolutely fabulous prices.
