No wonder
New Zealand’s Super Sire SAVABEEL who stands at Waikato Stud, has seen his
Service Fee jump from $60,000 to $100,000 in 2015.
Last Saturday
Savabeel enjoyed another superb afternoon on both sides of the Tasman and in Asia.
The corks were popping after the
Gr 1 Champagne Stakes success of his daughter
Pasadena Girl at Randwick following on the heels of
No Tricks’ stakes victory at Riccarton.
These stakes wins took
Savabeel’s Black Type Tally for this season to 8 Individual Stakes Winners of 14 Stakes Races.
Pasadena Girl has now won three of her four starts and trainer
Peter Moody admitted the filly’s progress had exceeded expectations. "She’s a little gem,” he said. "When I purchased her I thought we would be going to the races this time next year.
“She’s surprised us. She has an unbelievable attitude towards racing and her work, for a little filly she’s buttered up for the fourth time and probably presented bigger and stronger on each occasion even though she’s only a little pony.”
No Tricks, meanwhile, had finished runner-up in the Listed Airfreight Stakes seven days ago and she had no trouble going one better in her first attempt at 2000 metres when winning the Listed Warstep Stakes.
Trainer
Jason Bridgman has long held the filly in high regard and was thrilled for her to show her true worth.
The three-year-old had suffered a stop-start preparation and Bridgman was delighted to see her in winning form. “She had a rotten spring when the Levin Classic was put off and then she went back for the Eulogy Stakes and she was late scratched,” he said.
No Tricks now has two wins and seven placings from her nine appearances.
On the same day in New Zealand
KAWI added a much deserved Gr1 placing to his resume when finishing
3rd in the Gr1 ARC Easter Cup. The winner of 6 races from 1200m to 1800m including the Gr3 Taranaki Cup and the Listed WRC Anniversary H.,
KAWI has always been an ultra-consistent performer.
In Macau, Savabeel picked up another feature race when
BOBO SO CUTE won the $624,000 Macau Grand Lisboa Cup 1500m whilst
in Singapore, Ghost Emperor (late Sam Mesi) won the Selangor TC Class 3 H.
The win of
PASADENA GIRL at Gr1 Level took the exciting young sire’s tally to
9 individual Gr1 Winners – 5 of these recorded this season.
Savabeel is now the sire of 283 Winners, 70 placed, 40 Stakes Winners (9 Gr1) and 21 Stakes Placed.
He is now the
Leading Sire in NEW ZEALAND having taken over the mantle of his own super star father
ZABEEL.
This season in New Zealand he is on top of the premiership with:
