The day after
Written Tycoon sired his 100th and 101st individual winners for the 2015-16 racing season, Woodside Park Stud, the home of Written Tycoon announced a well-earned service fee jump for their in demand sire.
The leading two-year-old sire in Australia this season, Written Tycoon will stand for a fee of $49,500 (inc GST) in 2016 – up a massive 150% from $19,800 inc GST the previous year.
Woodside Park Stud has also announced that leading Queensland stud farm Glenlogan Park have purchased into Written Tycoon’s best three-year-old son, Rich Enuff and will stand the son of the nation’s hottest stallion in his first and third season at stud, in partnership with Woodside Park Stud, who will stand him in the alternate years.
In 2013, Written Tycoon stood for one season in Queensland where he left 88 live foals, this crop are now his two-year-olds.
"With Written Tycoon’s single crop of Queensland bred foals capturing two (2) Group One 2yo races this season, we simply had to buy into his incredibly fast son to offer the Queensland this year." Glenlogan’s manager said.
There have been 11 two-year-old runners to date for the sire. Four (4) of these are now winners, three (3) are Stakes Winners and two (2) of those CAPITALIST and LUNA ROSSA are Group One winners.
Capitalist
The achievement siring two Group One winning two-year-olds in the one season puts Written Tycoon in elite company. The only stallions to ever record two Group One winning two-year-olds in a season are:
Exceed and Excel, Redoute’s Choice, Flying Spur, Marscay, Marauding and now Written Tycoon.
"Written Tycoon has not only had an incredible year with his two-year-olds but he is also third (3rd) on the General Sires List by Earnings and second (2nd) by Winners," said Matt Tillett of Woodside Park Stud.
"He has now cemented himself among the elite proven stallions in Australia and he has done this off a very low base of mares, with his better crops still to come.”
Dynamic Syndications had been tracking the success of Written Tycoon for some time and decided the time was right to buy a well-bred daughter of the super young sire when we attended the
Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale in March.
We identified the filly we considered to be the best on type, pedigree and genetics and with the filly being VOBIS eligible, it was logical that the filly should be given to the Best of The Best in Victoria to train.
Our Filly
So without hesitation the filly was offered to Mick Price to train.

Since then the sire has been on fire with Capitalist winning the Golden Slipper and Luna Rossa winning the Gr1 Manawatu Sires Produce in NZ.
Now with the success the sire has had on the track and a 150% hike in Service Fee the yearling sale progeny of Written Tycoon is set to skyrocket.
As the saying goes: “Timing is Everything”
