TRICK SHOT won Race 5 over 1600m –
The HAWKESBURY RACE CLUB MOTEL F&M Class 2 Handicap
First $12,250 Track Condition: Good.
Time: 1:38.78 Last 600m: 0:35.51
The Dynamic Duo was back in action when leading trainer CHRIS WALLER and DYNAMIC SYNDICATIONS recorded yet another winner.
TRICK SHOT has now raced on 12 occasions: 2 wins, 2 seconds, 2 thirds & $63,490.
She has won a city race and been city placed on 2 occasions. This was the first time the mare had been out to 1600m and relished the trip. The owners also relished the $5,000 BOBS EXTRA Bonus.
TRICK SHOT was unlucky the previous week at the ATC transferred meeting to Kembla over the 1500m when finishing just one length behind the winner.
However this event was a massive drop in class and up to the mile the writing was on the wall that she would prove hard to beat and that’s how it turned out. Her previous 8 races had all been at Benchmark 70 city class events. For a Class 1 Benchmark 60 mare she had been taking on a lot stronger competition. Back to a Provincial Class 2 equivalent to a Benchmark 67 and despite being eligible for a Class 1 she was too good.
Despite the small field, it became a battle of tactics and rating of the speed which Corey Brown did to perfection. Jumping away evenly, Corey allowed apprentice Lester Grace to roll forward and take up the running going into the first turn. Then Corey rolled off the fence to allow Trick Shot to sit on the outside of the leader ensuring he did not get caught in a pocket on the fence. The field remained in position until the 600m when they turned it into a sprint. Corey Brown quickly drove Trick Shot to the lead with the top weight giving chase. As they turned for home Corey let the brakes off and Trick Shot dashed clear and then maintained her 1.5 length lead position under hands and heels cruising to the post.
It was a well deserved win for the mare and the Team of Owners and all the staff who put in so much work at Chris Waller’s stables. We thank everyone for their efforts.
TRICK SHOT became our 29th winner for the 2012-13 Racing season and 317th Win overall.
Dynamic Syndications and Chris Waller have some terrific younger horses we are currently syndicating and now would be a super time to get involved. Call the office for a chat.
