Hall Of Fame – Champion Trainer Gai Waterhouse had a good morning at the Randwick Trials on Friday with Gai’s gallopers.
Gai had runners in 13 of the 15 Heats conducted.
She won 5 of these Heats and finished runner-up in 6 Heats.
The times run for the 6 Heats that were held over 736 metres ranged between
42.8 to 44.3 secs with the average time for the morning
43.4 secs. The track was soft and the riders predominately were 3-4 lengths off the fence.
Importantly for Team Dynamic, we had 2 fillies to trial and both went super.
DELIRIUM 2yo F (Exceed And Excel ex Red Fever). Heat 11. She was last away but sped through to lead the trial after 100m and looked to have the trial won before gassing out the final 50m and being grabbed in the shadow of the post to finish
2nd by 1/2 length in the Fastest Time of the morning 42.8. The winner “Blowing Kisses” is a 2yo F by Redoute’s Choice from Gr1 Winner Eskimo Queen (NZ), a $320,000 yearling.
Our filly was still carrying a tubby belly courtesy of a good spell and she has several lengths improvement in her to come and certainly will be one for the black book in the next month.
In desperate need of this hit-out,
DELIRIUM will have another trial in approximately 2 weeks time before deciding when to head her to the races.
Bred to be good with the looks and conformation to match, the future looks very promising for this 2yo and her Team of Dynamic Owners.
DINKY DI DORA 3yo F (Redoute’s Choice ex Diana Cazadora). Heat 14.
She was ultra impressive in winning her trial. Under a very tight hold from barrier to post, our filly pulled her way to the front and towed her rider around the track in an impressive display.
A far more mature and stronger filly this time in its hard to envisage but Dinky Di Dora is almost 50kgs heavier this preparation than she was when last in work. The spell has done a great job and mentally and physically she is significantly better this time through.
Dinky Di Dora ran 43.1 secs for her trial – 3/10ths of a second off the fastest of the morning in which Delirium ran 2nd.
However it’s the way she did it, travelling on the bit throughout and wanting to go and stretch out but being restrained, there is no question that had the brakes been let off she easily runs the fastest time of the day.
Dinky Di Dora will strip a lot fitter yet having just her first trial in this preparation and with another trial in a fortnight under her belt and then off to the races, our 3yo filly shouldn’t be a maiden for long. Another black-booker for the trial watches.
Bred to be special she has always indicated she would be when she matured and the patience of her ownership team looks likely to be well rewarded.
By Redoute’s Choice from the Gr1 Winning South American mare Diana Cazadora, our filly has a big pedigree backing up obvious ability.
