With Uncle Mo’s progeny excelling on the turf this year, it came as no surprise to see buyers bidding up big on Uncle Mo’s progeny at the recent Keeneland September Yearling Sale where leading US trainer Bob Baffert bought one of Uncle Mo’s colts for $700,000.
“It’s an Uncle Mo and he’s hot,” said Baffert of his purchase.
“He’s just a really solid, sound, good-walking colt,
“He had a lot of class about him and speaks volumes for Uncle Mo’s own awesome athleticism, which he is transmitting to his progeny.”
Even before his amazing first crop success Uncle Mo was impressing with his ‘types’. As a result his outstanding first US yearlings of 2014 sold for $550,000, $450,000, $390,000 with others in the $300,000-plus bracket.
The unbeaten colt won the Gr1 Del Mar Futurity by four lengths, emulating last year’s victor and subsequent Triple Crown winner
