On Saturday, his son MUSIC MAGNATE won the Gr1 Doomben 10,000 (1350m) in Brisbane, giving trainer Bjorn Baker his first Gr1 winner as a trainer.
Then on Sunday at the Magic Millions breeding stock sale, it was Day 1 of the weanlings being offered and WRITTEN TYCOON had 6 of his babies sell through the ring for and average of $125,000.
The sale produced 28 weanlings on Day 1 to sell for $100,000 or more and Written Tycoon had 5 of his weanlings in this group.
However these stats when reviewed, reveal greater information about the demand the professional market has on his stock.
Of the 6 sold, one was not of merchantable quality. The filly was so poor in conformation, size, commerciality and forward opportunity, she sold for $10,000.
That left the remaining 5 lots that were offered. They grossed $740,000 for an average of $148,000 and a median of $140,000.
James Harron Bloodstock purchased the 2 most expensive at $230,000 and $170,000 whilst the other 3 sold for $140,000, $100,000 and $100,000.
Not a bad result for their breeders who produced these babies off a $19,800 service fee !
The demand for anything WRITTEN TYCOON comes off the back of the break-out season he is having that has seen the stallion produce 3 individual Gr1 Winners - CAPITALIST (2yo), LUNA ROSSA (2yo) and MUSIC MAGNATE (4yo).
Now the stallion is up to 17 Stakes Winners in a career that is flying along.
This season he has 8 stakes winners to his resume

Written Tycoon is also performing well on the other two premiership defining markers - Winners and Earnings. Currently he sits 3rd position in both categories:
He's had 120 Winners (Not A Single Doubt 136; Lonhro 127)
He's Earned $9,265,882 (Street Cry $12,403,288; $10,370,790)
In such demand by professional breeders, Written Tycoon had a service fee increase to $49,500 for the upcoming 2016 serving season and instantly the Book Full sign went up. This certainly indicated that breeders considered him "great value" at this price level and another big increase is sure to follow in 2017.
