Since the
9th April 2013, the day at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sales that
Dynamic Syndications purchased Lot 111, a superbly bred filly by Champion Sire
ENCOSTA DE LAGO from the brilliantly related mare
FUSAICHI ROSE, this filly’s family just keeps improving.
Normally if you can have one or two black type improvements it is a major advancement.
Incredibly our filly had received a massive
16 Black Type improvements.
Over the weekend it jumped up to 16 improvements when the closely related star USA mare
LAUGHING added another Gr1 win to her blossoming career resume.
LAUGHING - Set to become USA CHAMPION TURF MARE
Importantly
LAUGHING now appears to have an unassailable lead in the
USA Champion Turf Mare category. Apart from padding out the pedigree with further Black–Type, it’s highly probably that Laughing has become the
6th Champion in this immediate pedigree, descending from the brilliant matron mare
CIRCUS RING who is the direct 3rd Dam of our filly.
CIRCUS RING -CHAMPION and MATRIARCH of a DYNASTY
Laughing has now raced on 4 occasions this preparation for 4 wins being: 2 x Gr1’s, a Gr2 and a Gr3. Importantly for Dynamic Syndications, these 4 race starts have taken place after we purchased our filly.
LAUGHING - Winning the Gr1 Flower Bowl Invitational
Racing on 28 September at Belmont Park in New York, the Irish-bred 5YO mare
LAUGHING (Dansili-Comic, by Be My Chief) scored by a ½ length in the $600,000 USD
Flower Bowl Invitational Stakes Gr1 (10 furlongs – 2,000m) for 3YO and Up F & M, defeating 4YO mare Tannery (by Dylan Thomas) and 5YO mare Mystical Star (by Ghostzapper). This was
LAUGHING’S second Gr1 victory and took her record to 8 wins & 4 placings from 15 starts. Laughing, who was bred by Floors Farming and The Duke of Devonshire has now earned
$1,178,855 USD.
Laughing covered the 1 1/4 miles in 2:02.34 and returned $3.20 as the 3-5 favorite.
A $460,000 USD purchase at the 2009 Tattersalls October yearling sale, the mare was a stakes winner in Ireland for Coolmore Trainer O'Brien and owners Mrs. John Magnier and Mrs. Jacqueline O'Brien before being purchased by USA interest’s midway through her 3-year-old season.
The Flower Bowl victory was the fourth in as many starts this year for Laughing, who went for a spell in October of 2012 and resumed on June 29 to win the Eatontown Handicap Gr3 at Monmouth.
LAUGHING - Winning the Gr1 Diana Hcp
Second up was her Gr1 debut and Laughing led all the way to record a game head victory in the Diana Handicap at Saratoga in July. In her third outing, Laughing won by a head in the Gr2 Ballston Spa.
LAUGHING - Winning the Gr2 Ballston Spa
Her jockey said "She broke perfect and she went very comfortably the whole way. When I asked, she gave me the kick I needed to win the race. This was a very good race, especially going longer (than her last two wins at Saratoga) today. I think this was her best race."
“Laughing has won two Gr1’s, a Gr2 and a Gr3" her owner Santulli said of his mare's accomplishments. "Who has done better? I told him (trainer Goldberg) today. None of them can beat us (for USA Champion Turf Mare). None of these (other) horses” referring to Laughing’s resume, she is clearly well in front of her peers on racetrack performance point scores.
However the Breeders Cup on November 2 still has to be run before the title is determined.
Santulli said while Laughing would likely skip the Breeders’ Cup, he did indicate that she would run again next year.
Laughing is free from ballot but has to pay up the $100,000 eligibility nomination. The second factor is that the Breeders Cup is on the west coast and Laughing is on the east coast so connections may stay in New York and look towards some other black type targets.

Our filly by Encosta De Lago has enormous racing potential as a middle distance staying type into the future and will be in demand from professional breeders when her racing days conclude such is the strength of her pedigree.
LAUGHING and
VIVA PATACA are both Great Grand-Daughter's of
CIRCUS RING - the same as
OUR FILLY
Should the skills of leading horseman
Chris Waller add black type to our filly then apart from the prizemoney, the commercial value of our filly will skyrocket. She offers our clients a wonderful
gilt-edged investment.
