Dynamic’s recent run of good weather ended on Tuesday when the wet weather again hit all parts of Sydney causing the Canterbury track to be downgraded in quick time.
This was bad news for Dynamic horse, Masterstroke who was being aimed for the second race on the card today at Canterbury only for the bad weather to hit.
Masterstroke had to be scratched from Canterbury today
Masterstoke, who is by Exceed and Excel and out of Star Plume, has been notoriously unlucky when searching for dry tracks and thus has had to compete half of his races on either the slow or heavy going.
Unfortunately, this is not ideal for this 3yo gelding trained by Jason Coyle, as he much prefers being on top of the ground to give him a chance to power home over the concluding stages.
Jason has the gelding in great order after he finished 4th, again on a heavy track, first up but unfortunately the track at Canterbury was downgraded to a heavy again this morning and the decision was made that it would not be in the horses best interests to run.
Masterstroke produces his best runs on top of the ground
However, it is not all bad news for Masterstroke as the forecast is for better weather in the coming week and this will allow Dynamic to have a look at races at both Gosford next Wednesday or Newcastle next Saturday.
