Dynamic Syndications champion sprinter, Atomic Force has begun work again at Wild Oaks farm in preparation for an early spring campaign after a minor leg injury ruled him out of an autumn carnival assault.
Atomic Force was outstanding in his last preparation where he won 2 separate Group 1 races in 2 different countries and has since been out at the spelling farm after finishing a close up second in the Group 1 Telegraph Stakes (NZ) in January.
Atomic Force heads back to scale after Group 1 Galaxy win
Despite a hiccup on coming back from New Zealand, a minor injury to the near fore, he has made a full recovery and now appears to be coming on very nicely and has enjoyed his time in the spelling paddock.
The boys at Wild Oaks have looked after him brilliantly and they have reported him to be in good spirits and in good order.
Trainer Darren Smith has kept a close eye on him through his time in the paddock and together with the Dynamic team, we have taken a cautious approach before letting our champion gelding return to work.
Given that he had a long and brilliant campaign prior to spelling, It was decided by the combined Dynamic team that there is no point getting greedy and rushing him before he is ready again to race.
“The horse looks really well and probably needed the break. He hadn't seen a rest for a good 12 months prior to his New Zealand trip so it didn't hurt him at all.” Smith quoted to Sky Sports Radio
Because he is now a Dual Group 1 winner there is only so many races on the calendar that we could potentially target with this impressive 6 year old gelding.
There is a couple of appropriate looking races in the coming months that Atomic Force may be prepared for, with the Heath Stakes being a likely target if all things fall into place.
