SECRET DELIGHT an unraced 2yo filly by ENCOSTA DE LAGO from the Gr1 Blue Diamond & Gr3 Breeders Stakes placed Divine Secret has not yet faced the starter however the wraps have been strong for a long time. Ever since she galloped for the first time, the David Payne stables have held the filly in high regard.
She indicated again on Tuesday at the Rosehill trials that she is above average with a dominant win of her heat in 53.98, the fastest time for the fillies and just a tick outside the fastest of the morning recorded by the older open company sprinters.
Impressive Trial Winner - Secret Delight
SECRET DELIGHT has now trialled on 3 occasions. She has won 2 of these and was held back and hit the line strongly in the other.
SECRET DELIGHT was due to run several weeks ago during the Slipper Carnival however a minor setback when the filly suffered a stone bruise and returned to the paddock for 3 weeks. However she is back and ready and if she continues to improve, a trip to Brisbane is certainly worthy of consideration.
It is our plan to start SECRET DELIGHT either at Scone over the upcoming carnival or wait until the following Wednesday at Canterbury.
Young apprentice Chad Schofield who has ridden the filly in each of her 3 trials and put I'm a lot of track work with her has earned the right to ride the filly on debut. She is certainly a filly for inclusion in Black Books and we are thrilled for the team that race her as there are some terrific people involved with her.
