It has been a big month and a half for Dynamic Syndications as we have continued on our winning ways with positive results both on the track and in the sales ring. As well, we said good bye to an extremely valued member of staff and we gained a new employee into the Dynamic ranks. There has been plenty of excitement within the first third of the year and so much to look forward to for the rest of it.
Bon Voyage Adam!
Irreplaceable member of the Dynamic Syndications team, ADAM WATT has packed up his bags and is headed off to Europe for at least the next 6 months. Adam has always dreamed of travelling over to Europe once he finished his degree and is now making that a reality by throwing the backpack over the shoulder and embarking on the journey of a lifetime.
Adam has been instrumental in the success of Dynamic Syndications over several years and particularly since joining us full time 16 months ago after completing his Bachelor of Sports Management degree from Canberra University.
Adam and Dean celebrating yet another winner
It will not be all fun and games for Adam as he seeks to build upon and establish new contacts throughout the European Racing Community as Dynamic look at building strategic alliances with Northern Hemisphere thoroughbred operations.
We thank the large number of the clients, our trainers, suppliers and other friends of Dynamic whom have called or emailed wishing Adam well before he left. We are amazed at the generosity and support Adam received and we are truly humbled by the kindness of these well wishes.
New Staff Appointment
With one chapter finishing another one begins and Dynamic would like to introduce our latest staff member JAY MATHIESON who joins the team in the newly created role of Marketing / Sales and Business Development Executive.
Jay successfully completed a Double Degree which consisted of a Bachelor of Communications (Journalism)/ Bachelor of Sports Studies from Charles Sturt University in December 2011. Jay has always had a vested interest in racing.
He grew up around the racing industry with his parents heavily involved in both racing and breeding horses which led to his passion. He has worked at a number of key media outlets on internships before joining Team Dynamic and has vast experience in broadcast media.
He has previously worked as the host on two radio programs (drive-time and sport) at 2MCE in Bathurst which will surely help in the production of the new website, in particular Dynamic TV, due to be launched in the coming weeks. It will be part of Jay's ongoing responsibilities to keep you regularly informed on everything Dynamic.
Easter Yearling Sales
Dynamic Syndications have purchased three (3) quality yearlings at this year’s Inglis Easter Yearling Sales at the Newmarket complex in Sydney. After missing out on several lots on day one as the prices were in our opinion over valued, Dynamic proceeded to buy 3 magnificent fillies over the next two days with the first of these coming midway through day 2.
LOT 263 COMMANDS / MAKING FEY Filly
Dynamic made their first purchase at Lot 263, when the hammer came down at $110,000 for a very strong and correct COMMANDS filly. Dean and the Dynamic team love the progeny of COMMANDS, who has now produced 46 stakes winners, and we made this filly our main target by the Sire.
We were thrilled to snatch up this powerful and athletic individual below what we had valued her. Prepared by Yarraman Park Stud in the Hunter Valley on behalf of racing industry identity Tim Hughes, this filly ticks all the boxes that we look for when buying a horse.
The Dam, MAKING FEY (by Zabeel) was a Stakes Placed winner of 3 races 1300m – 1900m and has done a wonderful job at stud with a 100% record! She has produced 5 horses to race for 5 winners. From those 5 horses, she has produce the Gr1 and Listed winning 2yo APERCU (by Encosta De Lago) winner of the QTC TJ Smith Classic as well as winning the BTC Golden Stakes LR.
This magnificent filly is bred on the incredibly successful Danehill over Sir Tristram cross which has already produced 118 Stakes Winners.
Refining the cross down to Danehill over Zabeel it has produced 39 Stakes Winners including ATLANTIC JEWEL, PURPLE, RAIN AFFAIR, SHOOTOFF and SAMANTHA MISS in recent times just to name a few.
This cross has an A+++ rating with a quality score of 8/10 which puts it in the Superb range.
Shares for this superb filly will be offered with all cost inclusive up to the 31st of July.
LOT 286 ENCOSTA DE LAGO / MISS HELGA (IRE) Filly
Lot 286, a stunning filly by Champion Sire ENCOSTA DE LAGO ex MISS HELGA (IRE) became the second purchase for Dynamic Syndications on Day 2, only minutes after we had purchased our first lot. Prepared by Australia’s leading breeder, Coolmore Stud in the Hunter Valley, Team Coolmore has worked closely with Team Dynamic over many years.
Our close association enables us to have valuable insight into the historical aspects as well as upside of each yearling they offer for sale. This proved to be the case again with our ENCOSTA DE LAGO x MISS HELGA filly because now she appears to have been purchased at an absolute bargain price of $125,000.
Bred on the successful Encosta De Lago / Alzao cross, a proven source of stakes class horses.
Coolmore purchased the dam, MISS HELGA (IRE) a Stakes Winning 2yo over a mile in Ireland and brought her to Australia for stud duties. Already standing Champion Sire Encosta De Lago, they identified Miss Helga (by Alzao) would be a perfect mating to the stallion.
MISS HELGA is a Full Sister to dual Gr3 and LR winner & Gr1 performed ALEXIS (6 wins - 1 at 2 - 1400m to 1800m in France & Canada). ALEXIS is the dam of Stakes Winner MIKE FOX (5 wins – 2 at 2 – 1400m to 2000m & $813,773 in Canada).
MISS HELGA is also a Full Sister to 2yo Stakes Winner FRESHWATER PEARL (2 wins -1 at 2 - at 1200 and 1600 metres. FRESHWATER PEARL is the dam of multiple 2yo Stakes Placed PURE INCENTIVE (2 wins – 1 at 2 – at 1300m and 1800m).
MISS HELGA is a daughter of the Stakes Placed and 2yo winner SISTER GOLDEN HAIR.
As a broodmare, MISS HELGA is proving to be outstanding and repaying the faith Team Coolmore had in her when they purchased the mare for stud duties.
Our filly is the fifth foal of MISS HELGA. Each foal has been by ENCOSTA DE LAGO. Her foals have sold well: $675,000, $360,000, $140,000, $140,000 and $125,000.
There have been two foals to race to date: Both Stakes Placed Winners.
PINK SIRIS Winner at 1850m and 2d Strutt S., LR, 3d MVRC Arrow Training Places Hcp.
LIBERATOR 4 wins 1600m – 1800m in HK. 2d Queen Mother Coronation Cup.
She is bred to be a superstar with an A+ rating at 781% and has a quality rating of 7/10.
When we purchased this filly we knew she was an impressive type with a top pedigree but at time of purchase LIBERATOR had not been Stakes Placed.
However the Coolmore boys knew the horse was above average and being set for a Group 1 campaign. They whispered there was some serious upside happening.
They were spot-on. The horse has raced twice since we brought his full sister for a win and a Gr3 runner-up and is well on target.
We spoke with jockey Tim Clark who rides the horse in HK and he is very upbeat he is a top line individual and could add a Gr1 to his resume.
Sydney’s leading trainer Chris Waller had also inspected this lot and picked her as one that had all the qualities to be a potential star.
This filly has great breeding lines for it to be ready as a 2yo and look forward to 3yo classic races as well as 4yo cups races in which Chris has had plenty of success in recent times.
Dynamic Syndications had no hesitation in offering Chris the opportunity to train her and shares are currently available at $10,750 for a 5% and 21,500 for a 10% share with cost included up to the 1st of August.
LOT 476 FASTNET ROCK / JEWEL OF THE NILE Filly
The final lot that we purchased came midway through the 3rd and final day of the sales. Lot 476 was just the horse that we needed to make our sale a complete success.
The hottest sire going around at the moment is FASTNET ROCK and we managed to get our hands on the right one that didn’t break the bank. Above all, she is an absolute cracker. We paid $80,000 for this FASTNET ROCK x JEWEL OF THE NILE filly when we were willing to go up to $150,000 for her. The dam, JEWEL OF THE NILE has produced just 1 foal to race to date PEARL OF THE SEA. She is a winner at 2 over 900m as well as running 4th in the Gr1 AJC Champagne Stakes and the AJC Fernhill Handicap LR.
JEWEL OF THE NILE was a Sydney winner over 1250m
JEWEL OF THE NILE is a 1/2 sister to Gr1 winner SPECTATORIAL
JEWEL OF THE NILE is a 1/2 sister to Stakes Placed KENNETT - a winner of 5 races.
JEWEL OF THE NILE is a daughter of Stakes Winner REIGN OF HONOUR.
REIGN OF HONOUR is a daughter of Stakes Winner SINGING WONDER.
SINGING WONDER is a daughter of Stakes Winner STAR OF MILAN.
There is no doubt success runs in the fillies within this family. An opportunity to race filly by Australia’s best stallion with a family like this does not come around very often and the residual value of her should also continue to rise.
Gerald Ryan is set to train this filly and with the resent stakes successes that both Gerald and Dynamic have had, it would be no surprise to see filly added to a long line of success for both Syndicator and Trainer. Shares in this filly start at $7,625 for a 5% share and only $15,250 for a 10% share with all cost inclusive up to the 31st of July
Any further inquiries on our 3 most recent purchases can be made to Jay in the office on (02)9587 1511 or alternatively by email at jay@dynamicsyndications
Racetrack Success
After a slow start to the month due to heavy rain and other unforeseeable circumstance, April finished off with a bang on the track for Dynamic where we were involved in another Stakes Winning horse in DANCES ON STARS (Kindergarten Stakes Gr3).
Full Blast also turned the corner producing his maiden victory and then backing it up next start with another victory; and She’s a Rock Star showed her best at the track once again. This was backed up with strong performance from our other horses including a host of other placings.
Dances on Stars
Kindergarten Stakes – WON IT! Dynamic Syndications added yet another Stakes race to their impressive resume of purchasing Stakes Winners as yearlings when DANCES ON STARS, came out and won in impressive fashion. The horse has always shown a lot of potential right from the time when Dynamic purchased him at the 2011 NZ Bloodstock Premier Yearling Sale for $95,000 NZD.
The colt was purchased by Adam Watt on behalf of Dynamic Syndications from Highview Stud. Our colt was advertised for sale at $14,250 per share and during this selling period the horse commenced training and within a few days Gerald Ryan suggested to his client Brian Mullins, that he buy 100% of our colt. Adam and Gerald negotiated the sale of 10 shares (100% equity) and also the agreement to race the colt in Brian's own Registered Racing Colours rather than our Dynamic Syndications Colours. We were happy to assist with this arrangement.
Dance on Stars is now at the Brisbane Winter Carnival and has started his campaign with a 2nd place finish in the Ken Russell Memorial Handicap LR behind Sizzling. These performances could be the start of a very successful career for this colt however what we are sure of is that it will not be too long until Dances of Stars again features in black type racing.
Full Blast
On the same day that Dances on Stars was first past the post, FULL BLAST produced its long overdue maiden win at Newcastle. Full Blast was clearly last out of the barriers and rider Matt Palmer managed to settle the horse and eventually pulled himself up along the fence to sit midfield. Matt battled to get the horse to settle in a muddling pace upfront and had to check the horse several times before copping a further check near the 600m mark. Full Blast then found himself in a pocket behind a compact wall of horses with nowhere to go until the 250m when Matt had to hook wider and wider until he finally got clear inside the 200m. The horse then extended quickly, picking up many lengths to catch the leaders in the shadow of the post and surged to record a gutsy and determined victory.
He then followed that up with his second win in a row at Kembla on the 1st of May when he started a short price favourite and didn’t disappoint in class 1 company. Nash Rawiller rode him a treat, settling just off the pace and producing his run at just the right time to finish over the top of his rivals.
Congratulations to trainer Darren Smith who has done a top job with the horse since joining his stables. The horse looked a picture in the enclosure and raced as well as he looked on both occasions. As the trips get a little further it appears it will suit the horse far better. FULL BLAST became Dynamic Syndications 106th individual winner from 126 individual runners (84.12%).
She’s a Rock Star
Although not quiet in April, SHE’S A ROCK STAR returned to form on May the 1st when she saluted in a benchmark 75 race at Taree. Taking on a small but tricky field, jockey Matt Palmer was able to get into the box seat despite just missing the start. From that point on, she enjoyed a good run in transit and was able to spot the leaders 3.5 lengths on the turn and finish over the top of her competitors to win in good fashion.
This was a great result for Roxy as she had not raced up to her best in her first two starts this preparation but in a great training performance, Darren Smith managed to get her just right and was able to win and produce the best run of her current campaign. Congratulations to all the owners in She’s a Rock Star.
The mare has been an honest racemare and given the owners much enjoyment having won in town on a Saturday and running 4th in a Stakes Class. However all good things come to an end and She’s A Rock Star will be sold as a broodmare prospect at the Magic Millions National Sale on the Gold Coast at the end of May. Her future as a broodmare is assured and I would have no hesitation buying her progeny by the right sire in the years to come.
Other Good Results
SECRET DELIGHT has won another trial, this time in the super slick time of 53.98 at Rosehill on Wednesday morning. She is now ready for racing after some minor setbacks and we are hopeful that it can perform as well in races as she has shown in trials.
BLOWIN’ YOUR MIND impressed on debut to only just miss and finish a nose 2nd at Canterbury in a 2yo Handicap on the 2nd of May. These are very impressive signs for the son of Encosta De Lago and as he continues racing. We may give him another one for education but more likely to tip him out and wait for his 3yo campaign.
JUST A SPLASH is getting closer to its maiden victory after finishing 2nd over 1100 metres at Gosford on the 22nd of April first up after a spell. Dynamic and Gerald Ryan believe a win is just around the corner for this improving filly.
ITCHY TIGER showed signs of improvement after finishing 4th at Scone on the 20th of April over 1400 metres. After 3 runs in this preparation, he is starting to get to full fitness and is constantly improving. However after careful consideration ITCHY TIGER has been on-sold to Queensland and we wish his new owner the very best of luck and hope to see him in the winners circle again soon.
SUPERIOR INSTINCT put in two massive runs first up at Rosehill when 2nd to Pampelone and then at Randwick (Kensington) to just miss the bob on the line behind Dee ‘n’ Gee. Jimmy Cassidy produced a great ride over a less than ideal distance of 1150 metres however was the horse was unable to get his nose down to get the victory.
The David Payne trained, DREAM CHOICE, came back to racing in lovely fashion finishing 2nd at the Kenso on the 9th of April beaten just over a length. Since then, he had another run where he didn’t handle the ground and should be primed for racing over 1400m – 1600m in coming weeks.
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL TRAINERS AND OWNERS ON THEIR SUCCESS THROUGHOUT THE MONTH OF APRIL. HERE’S HOPING THAT MAY IS EVEN MORE PROFITABLE.
New Website
Dynamic Syndication is due to launch its brand new, STATE OF THE ART website within the next few days. Once upon a time, our current website was considered a step ahead of the curb and actually won two (2) awards for design, today it’s very much a dinosaur. The new website promises to enhance your experience and is designed to be significantly faster and easier to navigate. The interactive nature, specifically in our new area titled DYNAMIC TV will see things such as written reports superseded by either Television style reporting or by audio reports. This will increase your interactive experience in racehorse ownership. It’s an exciting new frontier and we hope our website will remain at the forefront of the technology wave.
It has been a long time in development as we first started working on the website in May of 2011 however good things come to those who wait and it is in its final stages of completion today. Through much turmoil and after several design changes and many development issues, we are now ready to go. We hope you enjoy the new interactive nature of the website and please stay tuned to the website and Dynamic TV for further updates.
Fastnet Rock Hits 10th Group 1 of the Season
Australasia's HOTTEST sire had another terrific day on the racetrack last Saturday when adding further Stakes Results to his already burgeoning resume of Stakes Horses. On Saturday the 12th of May, there were 3 major updates to the ever growing list of quality runners. Importantly, he sired his 10th Individual Group 1 Winner (6 Fillies / 4 Colts) and his second WFA Winning 3yo Filly in the past month.

Shane Rose off to the Olympics (again!)
Shane Rose, the head at Bimbadeen Park and a crucial member of Team Dynamic, is on target towards another Olympics. Shane has been working with Dynamic for a number of years and is responsible for breaking in and horse education before reach the track
Shane is vying to compete in his 2nd Olympics after winning a silver medal at the Beijing Olympic Games. He has all but assured himself of being selected in the 5 person team after his victory in the Sydney International in later April.
We wish Shane all the best when he travels to London and hopefully he can add an Olympic Gold medal to an already impressive resume.

Sorry boy’s but this is a GIRLS ONLY SYNDICATE. This colt is being aimed at the Magic Millions race series and their $500,000 bonus being offered. This baldy faced colt which has affectionately been dubbed “Äpache Kitten” due to its physical appearance like racetrack superstar “Apache Cat” is bred for blistering speed as a 2yo. The Sire, NOT A SINGLE DOUBT, was a star 2yo and ran 2nd in the Magic Millions, a feat which we hope to better with this cracking colt. The Dam, SUTTON REVIEW was a stakes winner of 5 races.
