Overdue? Absolutely! Expected? Without Doubt! Satisfaction? No - Relief!
Simply put this is the most accurate way to describe how we feel about the efforts of promising 3yo Full Blast (Stratum / Bridie Belle) after the gelding broke through for his maiden win at Newcastle on Saturday.

The win was so courageous that, considering the torrid run he had throughout transit, there is little doubt a horse without his obvious class would not have won.
Clearly last out of the barriers, Full Blast was ridden by Michael Palmer who became the victim of circumstances throughoutAfter settling, the horse pulled himself up along the fence to find himself midfield and over racing. Michael battled to get the horse to settle in a muddling pace upfront and had to check the horse several times before copping a further check near the 600m mark. Maintaining his mid field position until they balanced up into the straight, Full Blast found himself in a pocket behind a compact wall of horses with nowhere to go. After the 250m Michael had nowhere to go so kept checking off heels and hooking wider and wider until he finally got clear inside the 200m. The horse then extended quickly, picking up many lengths to catch the leaders in the shadow of the post and surged to record a gutsy and determined victory.
Congratulations to trainer
Darren Smith who has done a top job with the horse since joint his stables. The horse looked a picture in the enclosure and raced as well as he looked. As the trips get a little further it appears it will suit the horse far better.
It is our belief that the horse has a bright future and could be adding more photos to the wall shortly.

Full Blast has always shown promise from the time he put on a saddle but frustrating results were the norm. His first run was in the Gr2 Pago Pago where he pulled up shinsore. Resuming after a spell we took him to Goulburn to break his maiden but ran into high quality filly Bound To Blush. Then we took him to Newcastle and ran into Laser Hawk! Talk about bad luck.
A move to Darren Smith he resumed in a short course trip where they went to fast for him early when running 3rd. Second up for Darren Smith and racing in a longer event on a bigger track things almost went wrong again but his quality shown through.
Full Blast became Dynamic Syndications 106th individual winner from 126 individual runners 84.12%.
-
He became Dynamic Syndications 42nd winner for the 2011-12 Racing Season
-
He became Dynamic Syndications 274th race win

He was part of a Dynamic Double on the day
