With the Group One Galaxy coming up this weekend and the likelihood of another wet track, similar to the conditions that we saw in last year's event, many people have been asking where is ATOMIC FORCE?
The Dynamic Syndications multiple Group 1 winner has not been spotted since January when he finished a close up second in the Group 1 Telegraph Stakes in New Zealand.
Although the son of Danehill Dancer would not have been aimed at the Galaxy due to the handicap conditions of the race and the huge weight he would be assigned, it begs the question when will we next see him on the track?
Currently, he is at Dynamic Syndications preferred agistment and pre-training property, Wild Oaks, recovering from a slight leg injury sustained in his final run last preparation at Trentham in New Zealand.
He is still a number of months away from racing however this superstar of the track deserves his spell after the sensational statistics he put up last preparation.
ATOMIC FORCE was up for a total of 14 months in which he had 18 starts winning 6 of these and placing on 8 other occasions.
He won almost $700,000 in prize money in the preparation and had victories in 4 stakes events including the listed MRC Slickpix and the ATC Maurice McCarten Stakes as well as Group 1 wins in the ATC Galaxy and ARC Railway Stakes.
This horse has come a long way since May of 2010 when we had his first run for trainer Darren Smith where he won a Benchmark 70 at Hawkesbury with Tim Clark aboard.
He is now a true champion of Australian racing and we are extremely hopeful he will overcome his injury and come back in even better fashion when we see his eventual return to racing.
A story like this shows that with good horse husbandry, persistence, time and patience with horses, often you can get results, especially if you are racing with the right team of people.
Dynamic Syndications bought ATOMIC FORCE as a yearling from the Gold Coast Magic Millions sales in 2007 for the bargain base price of $50,000 after careful and expert analysis.
Although he definitely showed some ability as a two year old and as an early three year old, he couldn't quiet crack it for a black type victory despite being placed at Group 3 level.
Persistence and hard work really showed with trainer, owners and Dynamic Syndications as he started progressing through the grades to the position he is at today, a dual Group 1 winner.
This is just one of the many horses that Dean Watt and Dynamic Syndications has purchased for a more than affordable price which led to many victories and a profit for all those involved.
This cannot be done overnight and it is a credit to Dean's hard work and diligence in selection as well as over 30 years experience to get the right result for his client's time and time again.
We are currently syndicating a number of horses that could potentially lead to similar, if not better stories and more Group 1 success.
