Dances on Stars, a colt purchased by Dynamic Syndications, will line up 2nd favourite in the Group 3 Kindergarten Stakes tomorrow at Randwick.
Although it will not be racing in our familiar silks of white with red dynamic logo and cap, we will certainly be keeping a close eye on him, having purchased the horse as Lot 77 at the New Zealand Premier Sale early last year.
After buying our son of Snitzel from Starnet (by Last Tycoon) for NZ$ 95,000 in 2011, we offered him for syndication shortly afterwards with Gerald Ryan at Rosehill. You may remember the ads for him on TVN ? After a short period in training, we were approached by Gerald Ryan if we would be able to sell 100% of the colt to one of Gerald's clients. It didn't take long to reach an agreement regarding the impressive colt and subsequently a deal was negotiated.
Since that time, the colt has gone from strength to strength and although still a maiden, he is highly fancied to break that status in Group 3 company tomorrow.
Ryan has held the youngster in high regard since first seeing the colt walk into his stable and his opinion has continually grown from that stage.
After running a very handy 2nd behind the highly regarded Meidung on debut, he came out and ran 2 lengths, 4th in his second start behind Faustus despite racing greenly.
Gerald believes that the horse has not only matured both mentally and physically but has also improved a number of lengths in racecraft since its last start and is now "one of the best 2 year olds in his stable".
This athletic colt will have to take on some strong opposition with the Alan Denham trained, Ichihara and the Anthony Cummings filly, Agueda also coming in with support.
Ryan however remains very upbeat with the horses' chances and a win would be no surprise.
If Dance on Stars were to win tomorrow, it would add to the growing list of Stakes winners that Dynamic has purchased at various sales around Australia and New Zealand.
It is no surprise to Team Dynamic that the horse is a stable favourite. He is yet another individual that had A+++ pedigree rating being bred on the Redoute's Choice / Last Tycoon cross which is responsible for such high class gallopers as DARIANA, DRUMBEATS, SHAAHEQ, ESTEE, PROVENCE, LUCY UNICORN, etc.
Arguably the person who shall be cheering loudest could be Adam Watt from Dynamic. Adam was in NZ at the sales representing us and he purchased the colt on our behalf. It was also Adam who then negotiated the sale to the client's of Gerald Ryan's stables.
Whatever the result, Dynamic Syndications have once again showed their experience, diligence and quality assurance they put into their work by producing another stakes class horse.
Currently Dance on Stars sits on the 2nd line of betting at $3.30 behind the unbeaten Ichihara who is the even money favourite.
A win by the boom colt will ensure him a trip to Brisbane over the carnival.
